MISC Reliant Kore Review | Star Citizen 3.10 Gameplay

I side-graded to the Tana variant of the reliant. A "fighter" varient that has a bed and only 1 cargo unit. But you can easily stack 3 boxes in that 1 cargo area. I feel that the Tana is far better as the core ship of a small fleet.

I really like it! I know the Avenger is in vogue, but if I was starting from scratch right now I would probably lot for the Tana

Lived my Kore until I got the Tana. The extra 16 missiles are amazing. Still plenty of room for boxes. I wish the s4 tips could mount a s4 weapon. I have not been able to equip one though. Tana also has a bed for each person.

One thing I think you have to agree with is that the Reliant has personality in spades -- much more than any other starter, even the Avenger (which I'd say is also one of the ships with the most personality in game). In my mind, the second seat in the Reliant is much like the Merlin on the Constellation -- it's kind of a waste, unless you genuinely plan to use it all the time. And I think in that respect, there's a very very important niche where the Reliant is absolutely the perfect ship: When you have a close family member, like a spouse or a child, who would love to do things in game with you, but doesn't really care to fly a ship of their own -- and maybe only wants to fly one night a week, for a few hours here or there. With its weird looks, great views, mode-changing charm, and a genuine host of things for the copilot to do, I can't think of a ship that offers more two-player fun for the money than a Reliant Kore. Like no other in the game, this is a ship to be shared.

i have so many cargo ships, but sometimes i just chill in the reliant to fly arround with some cargo box missions. its just a nice feeling to fly with it. i like spec the landings and then get out the seat where you are allmost touch the ground allready feels so special :)

Please consider doing this for the Tana... the Tana is a very unique fighter with lots of amenities usually only found in much bigger ships like the Vanguards. Excellent video! (Also if you want the copilot to aim the guns you need the Reliant turret.

Great video, Farrister! Thanks for your well thought out review process. The MISC Reliant is the cheapest multi-crew option and has one of the most fantastic views for two in the game. It is ideal for showing a new player the 'verse, for sightseeing especially. I personally have the SEN (science) version, loses cargo but gets two beds and shoilet, plus stand-in science gear and a seated science station. I think it's handling is above par especially with VTOL. Kudos!

One could use it to haul a Greycat Buggy up into orbit for use as a target to train your new gunner with. One can't haul a PTV with a Tana, and one can't train with a gunner in a Titan.

yes, I also dislike lokking at my friends HAHAHA! It's so great, that the copilot can't do anything about that, and also it is the second seat that gets spun around! It's just so sad, that the wing doesn't spin 360°. Because one thing I like more than not lokking at my friends is making them motion sick! :-D Edit: In Germany we have something called "Kopfkino" wich translates to "Head Cinema". I've been doing some head cinema about this: the copilot is sitting below the pilot while the pilot eat a bag of chips, crumbling down on the copilot. It's like the funniest thing for me at the moment! I hope I'm not being too annoying, just say so if I am, I'll take absolutely no offense to that. It's a pleasure hearing your comments and opinions about the ships and makes me want to share mine as well.

Check out the Tana. Both are ingame so you can free fly both. The extra missiles on the Tana make a huge difference in combat. I can easily do claim jumper missions with a tana. Took a bit more finesse with the Kore though

So agree with your verdict. Initially it was not going to have a bed but maybe a cot but it had cargo capacity that was a reasonable trade-off.What this ship really needs adding to what it has now is: First, an increased length to allow for another 2 SCU and enough increase to width to keep its overall lines, like they did with the Titan. Then with the increased space it would slot-in correctly below the Hull A and above the Titan strictly as a more decent targeted short-haul cargo hauler. Second, fold-down wall mounted cots on both sideS to allow for appropriate one or two player log outs. Short of that it is still “skippable”; Titan to Hull A whenever that comes out and that’s a shame.

In 3.12 and 3.13PTU I have been having fun doing box missions with Stealth components, strife mass drivers and hellion scatterguns. Perfect for dropping into caves, quick escapes and PVE bounty's where the AI ships tend to close distance to get under missile range then the Hellions rip them apart. And nobody expects the Spanish.....er um Reliant Kore.

@@Farrister Not that I know of. I was just mentioning that the Kore and its kin are well suited to stealth and caves. It is a fun ship for smuggling type gameplay, low level bounties and ambushes.

I still love the Reliant for its uniquely excellent view. I've got a Sen I will probably melt at some point and purchase with in game currency, but I know I'll have it in my hanger for fun and exploration.

I think the KORE will come into its own when cargo weight is added into the game. ie, 1 SCU of water is a meteric ton, but 1 SCU of gold is 19 meteric tons. I think the VTOL will allow a heavier payload from surface to orbit.

Greetings again Farrister. Nice review as usual. The Reliant Kore was one of the first ships I flew. My son had one and back when the only way to find Grim Hex in the asteroid belt of Yela, he asked me to take over and fly us to that location. I had a minor crime stat and you couldn't see it for Quantum jumps without one. Personally, I didn't really like the ship. The flying wing design is efficient and works well when flying through an atmosphere, but because it rotates to a vertical position, I would forget it was that way and would get to close to rocks in the belt. I've seen all the different variants, but still prefer something different. Thanks for the review. Fly safely and I'll see you in the verse.

Currently grinding VHRT in The Kore with some Power Management and I am curious if it can handle ERT aswell. Currently looking for a bigger and better ship for bountyhunting and your reviews help me a lot !

I bought the Aurora MR as a starter, then quickly realized it didn't really suit what I wanted to do. It has a bed, yeah, but I don't really like it. I like the Reliant Kore for it's cargo running capabilities

Does the viewer see in the first and last landings that the Reliant Kore drifts to port after the VTOL engines and gears are down? That’s is a design flaw. If the pilot does not expect this unwanted drift to port in the final approach just before touchdown, the Reliant Kore will continue to accelerate to port, at least until the pilot lands the craft or the gears are retracted and the VTOL engines put back into flight. Note also that the Reliant Kore will not let the pilot out of the pilot’s seat during flight, preventing EVA missions because the ship has not landed. Another design flaw. Finally, there is the fact that the Reliant Kore will not ascend in the Z axis using the Shift Key (in default keybinding) when the wings are vertical, nor will it strafe port or starboard (A and D respectively in default keybinding) while the wings are horizontal. Verdict: The Reliant series will take some foreknowledge of these quirks before buying these ships with either in-game uAEC or with real money.

One doesn't have to use that mode for all flight, only for quantum travel. You are trapped in the seat during quantum though, thats true.

the Avenger is better, unless you factor in "weirdness" as a preferable characteristic. Which, I do. The Reliant Tana is also a decent Vanguard Warden on a budget btw.

Depends what you need. I love the 85X as a 2 seater which is agile in atmosphere, but it's only really useful for ferrying from A to B or touring.

ok I own a kore and have the same armor what is up? love the ship but it is twichy in atmosphere, the titan is in my opinion a bit better starter more features bed, +2 scu more, but I love it for its looks and transformation changing out the guns for ballistics helps out the combat a lot

@@Farrister the way it is in base model it draws more power than it can generate so the modifications to the power plant needs to be done and the ballistic helps over the energy though the energy is more sci-fi in my opinion

Back when this ship had only 1 turret I nabbed 2 ships just to rip 1 off to glue it to the other. I still enjoy it as a fighter with gattlings for the guns so less power draw and more shield penetration. I'm testing 4 size 2 tarantulas. The key is flying in horizontal mode as everything works better for me....plus I think it just looks cooler. The ability to buy turrets have really made the reliants an interesting choice of ships now. I have a SEN set up like the kore and tana mixed up at times. And my TANA just drops the lasers for big gats and ratts.

Yes tana and 20 Rattlers is amazing. Wish we could still spam the full missile load. Having 140 warheads in air would be amazing. I also run 4x tarantulas and 2 of the lightstrike tevarin guns under wing. Really wish the s4 mount at the wings could equip a s4 fixed weapon as 2x revenants would be sick.
