Thats absolutely brilliant. A metal bin over the 3d print to keep it heated and hidden. I love it. Im definitely going to try that with mine. I hate having the fumes in my workshop and been trying to find an outside solution for weeks.

If you ever find an old stereo cabinet or cupboard, they make fantastic printer enclosures. To use inside, just cut out a hole in back for a dryer vent and run it to another hole in a plank of wood acting as a spacer for a window, then put a fan and carbon filter inline somewhere.

Resin 3D printing is what got me into 3D printing. Later It's what got me out of 3D printing. I'm back printing after taking a break but just doing FDM. Last time I concentrate on resin printing but the clean up after failures really took a toll on me. Cleaning good prints is fine because it's all there, but failed resin prints can be a mission to clean up for the next print. Not so much with FDM. I'm glad I'm back to 3D printing but boy in the time I took off it has advanced tremendously. All my printers are outdated lol they still work but I think I might pick up a newer FDM printer. Any suggestions fellow crafting nurds?

Likely failed due to dodgy USB. A common fault if you use the elegoo-supplied USBs included with the printer. It's definitely a software issue rather than a 'failed print' at any rate

the elegoo machine you are using doesnt have a built in heater, you might be getting confused by the overheat protection advertised on their site(strange thing to be advertising), lcd screens on all printers get warm but not really sufficient at heating resin.

Why didn’t you scope in 3-D, give me the thought. You bravely chop up other people’s miniatures and sculpt over top of them to make your own thing which is a huge inspiration to all of us. But I wonder what your thoughts are on taking somebody else else’s 3-D model and modifying it to look the way you want? Is that out of the wheelhouse? Why not just download a chain gun, and modify it to your needs?
@MrBiggybitКүн бұрын
While watching you sculpt , you gave me a thought***. How that first sentence should of read 😂
@Miscast23 сағат бұрын
A few reasons! First of all I find it fun and creatively fulfilling. I like to make things I can release (for free or paid) for people to have too and making from scratch allows or hiring a sculptor allows me to do that. Sometimes I do digitally kitbash, but its actually kind of a legal and ethical headache as many digital file licenses strictly tell you, you cannot modify the files even for personal use or something similar. If I print the model, paint it and put it in my army, I usually cannot sell that miniature legally with most licenses, and much of what I make gets sold or passed on to other people. Lots of licenses require credit, which means the models cant live in my bits bin (cause I'll forget who made them). So when I do I spend a lot of time looking for files I can use ethically and easily and sometimes it ends up better to just make it.

You really shouldn't store electronics outside or in cold environment. Condensation will gather on the metal parts on the circuit boards, and you risk destroying the device.
