Ah the Masamune detune. I remember seeing them live when they played Masamune, and sure enough, they just grab their tuning pegs and yank them at random to make it sound extra heavy. Was pretty funny to see all three of them do it in sync.

When I insert a midi groove into Cubase, the notes are different. Example is if the crash is being hit every 1/4 note, Cubase is registering it to be a low tom or something else. Any help on this please?

perhaps that is because you have a different drum maps on cubase? go check other GGD videos about drum mapping on cubase by Misha

Royyan that’s exactly what I thought, but I’m using the GM mapping which I got from another Mesha vid. Is there a certain drum map I should default to? Appreciate your advice either way.

Hi Daniel, make sure you are dragging the midi file from the midi groove player within your GGD instrument. This was it conforms to the mapping you are choosing. There are a number of other videos on our channel which show this. Any further questions don't hesitate to reach out.

I’m new to all this and try to decide whether to get this or ez drummer. If you drag the groove into the DAW (logic and reaper in my case) is the piano roll already laid out or is there another step to set all that up.

It's already laid out in reaper, probably in logic too. You double click on the track in reaper to open the midi programming section and you can tweak the specific midi notes to change the drums sounds as you want from there.
