15 years ago, 525 horse out of a basically stock 4 cylinder turbo with nothing more than a slightly bigger turbo and software was unheard of. Amazing how much engine technology has progressed!

@@moejasss Im well aware of that but it takes considerably more time and money to turbo charge a N/A engine than it does to upgrade an already existing turbo engine. I was simply pointing out that 15 years ago, 500 plus horse from a 4 cylinder turbo from just upgrading to a slightly larger turbo and software was unheard of.

As an A45 owner myself, despite the extra power Alex has, this lap felt very familiar to me. There’s so much to be impressed by the car and it has plenty of fun and emotion in the experience, but the weight is a constant source of frustration. It really shows itself from Hohe Acht to Pflatzgarten, the front end just not able to turn in as you’d want it to. But there’s few cars at this new price point that can attack a track like this then cruise back to, in my case Scotland, in comfort and in warranty and be back on the daily commute by Monday. It’s why my A45 is still sat in my driveway and will be for a long time. I’d probably take the AP upgrade, but not the KW’s. Merc really did a great job on the stock suspension and it’s as flat and predictable on the ring without being too stiffly sprung.

Great lap in a thundering ‘hot hatch’ but I can’t help thinking the huge cost of the base car plus the very expensive mods would get you a very special ring tool that didn’t have 66% of the weight on the steering wheels or need computer aided torque vectoring

Fastest track cars have very good software. Great ECU to help the car. It's hardware + software. That's what makes a car the most optimal for the track. Look at Porsche. They are amazing at that. Also Mercedes with this A45. Great job!

Hi Misha, great content as usual.. What’s your view in terms of handling and power compared to Renntec A45s? .. Which car would make a better daily driver? .. I’m thinking of getting the CLA 45s Shooting Brake (need more boot space) then giving to Renntec for all the mods this car has. I noticed no complaints about tyre rub, does this car have the wider rubber? I’d appreciate if you could do a mini feature on the A45s / CLA 45s highlighting development as these cars are proving how tuneable they are.

The RS3 has horrible under steer from the Quattro all wheel drive system. The system is happy until you start to push the car into a corner. This A45s has solved that issue

Just thinking of my first car, the 1gen Yaris Tsport, a 1.5VVTi nimble car, weight only about 960KG if I remember correctly... Did I hear it correctly this car is having more than that weight on the front axle only ? WOW. I'm driving the A250e Sedan, I thought it were the batteries making my car feel more heavy than it looks, but I didn't expect the real AMG to have this weight issue as well...

However just for my interest I’ve checked the difference between this dude (seems that he drives so fast) and Kubica lap from last cone till 8.48 (start of concrete road) and Cubica has advantage of 40 sec! At first sight seems that both cars has same power and roughtly same efficiency, but driving skills are so different.

Complete different cars. A45 is around 200kg heavyer, has 1100kg just front axle load, wheelbase is shorter and so on. A BMW is definetly faster with same power than an A45. You can not compare thoose 2 cars
