Finally an evo with the proper close ratio 6 speed gearbox.
@SI0AX3 ай бұрын
The reason it's not so popular is because it's significantly weaker. The 5 speed can handle above 1,000 WHP with just an upgraded clutch. The 6th speed will break at around 500WHP on something. For a light bolt on stock internal engine it's fine, but for serious power, people end up swapping out to a 5 speed.
@leepicgaymer54643 ай бұрын
@@SI0AXis there any way to upgrade the 6 speed?
@SI0AX3 ай бұрын
@@leepicgaymer5464 The reason the 6 speed is weaker is due to the fact that they are cramming an extra gear into the same housing as the 5 speed. This means that each gear has to be made thinner along with the input shaft and bearings. Even the front differential is weaker. You would have to get billet steel gears and input shaft, upgraded bearings and an aftermarket racing LSD to get it on par with the 5 spued setup. Maybe even add cryotreatment to the transmission on top. It would be cheaper to modify the gear set in the 5 speed to be closer for better acceleration at the cost of fuel economy. I would just not go the extreme route with the 6 speed. Just stick to keeping the engine internally stock. Forged engine internals don't even last long. A stock internal engine EVO can last up to 250,000 miles without a rebuild if proper oil changes are done whereas a forged engine internal will struggle to get past 40,000 miles.
@nnr33 ай бұрын
@@SI0AX everyone knows that the 5 speed can handle stress better than the 6 speed. That doesn’t take away the fact that the 6 speed is superior in terms of gear spacing, which is what I was talking about in my original comment.

@@nnr3 Yeah, more gears is always better. 5 speeds have always had pretty uneven spacing. It's like they decided to do in right with the 6 speed+ manuals and Autos
