I'm currently on fb marketplace looking for one lmao The way this car so effortlessly and CONFIDENTLY bullied that poor M2, I mean all props to Misha as a top shelf driver, but the car was right there with him, it was very impressive. The big power cars could only run away on straights, any slight corner that they had to concentrate on not blowing the back end out on, this car was just gripped up and pulling away from them. I would want a little more power in mine, but that's the great thing about Evos, completely stock engine, a 4G63 will make 500whp all day everyday, from a little 4 banger.

The era of Evo’s and earlier Impreza were golden, we got good hydraulic steering, close ratio gearbox with no tall final drive, cable throttle, relatively low weight compared to modern cars and engines that were characterful. I miss those days! I have a mk7 Golf R that has had some very light tuning but has been tested as sub 4 second to 60mph, but the engine is soulless, the electric steering is terrible with no feel, the electric throttle feels dead at times and it’s pretty heavy at 1500kg as it’s a dsg, probably faster accelerating than an equivalent Evo but I’d rather have the Evo or Impreza (Evo 6 RS, or Impreza Sti VER3 Type RA)

Tips from another evo owner: -Oil starvation occurs when cornering hard and long to one side, that could cause the engine problem, and baffled oil pan can solve it. Good job installing one. - With 1.7 bar you should be around 400hp, depending on the other mods you have , like downpipe, full 3 inch exhaust and cams. - With that power level and specially torque level, the 6 speed is prone to fail. Most convert to 5 speed which is stronger. But keep an eye on rear AYC differential and ACD, cause they could fail also. To lessen the problem, frequent oil changes for them with good quality oils (75W140 recommended for AYC) and dont forget the AYC fluid in the trunk! Love that 9 wagon, very special car!! If you can tell me any recomendation or tip I will be thankful. Mine is a 7 RS2 spec running 1.5 boost 350hp 421TQ Cheers!
