Rolls Royce have always been the best in making the ultimate luxury cars, and they don't have anything to prove. However, now with the 2024 100% EV brand new Rolls Royce Spectre, there is one thing that yet has to be proven. Can an ultra luxury coupe such as Rolls Royce that costs over 500'000 EUR handle a real life roadtrip. This is what we did - drove the Spectre from Lake of Geneva (Switzerland) down to South of France (Monaco) to put this EV to a real test.

Unlike a gas car, you wake up everyday with a full battery as you usually plug it in at night and in the morning it will be full again. With a v12 car you have to keep going to a gas station every few days...

I’ve got a Skoda Enyaq Sportline 85x on order. It’s on its way to me in the UK right now. pproximately two weeks and I’ll have it. It can do roughly the same mileage as this Rolls. It’s so quiet inside. You should test one. You could have 8 of the Skoda’s for one of these Rolls too.

I don’t know if it’s from my headphones, but the music volume is to high compare to your voice because of that I have to increase or decrease the volume every time you transitioned from your voice to music. Your video is nice, but something very important is missing … you had some issues to start the charging at the station in Italy. A guy in the video gave you a card … but which on? A lot of times especially this is the problem that the station does not work with a normal credit card. How did you pay the charges on your trip or n this different countries?

Really great review - what a vehicle. I think reviewers are now moving away from "can the EV make it from X to Y?" and moving back to reviewing the car. I really did not want to buy an EV, mostly because of the insane depreciation, but also technology still improving, not wanting to be left with an obsolete asset, and, the many, many negative reviews in the about running out of charge quickly and to finding a charger that works. My accountant basically told me I would be braindead not to, so I got a Volvo EX30 and it's excellent. I've done round day trips of 350 miles/650kms and it's not a problem. I never have a problem finding a charger and I don't think I spend more time stopping than if I'd taken one of my other vehicles. I still need to piss, have a coffee and a sarnie and I don't sit about waiting. Splash and dash in an EV is also a thing! Don't get me wrong, reviewers should slam an EV if the range is significantly worse than the manufacturer stated (and on this basis, I avoided a luxury EV - personally, I wanted the Lotus Eletre), but next time, I'll happily spend more. They just work.

Very well produced content with beautifull landscape I personally know very well! Well done! However, your experience ist not at all specific to Rolls Royce. Any middle classe electric car can do that today. I just drove from Murten (Morat) to Giorgia and back during the last few weeks, with my electric Ford Mustang with a total of 8'600 km.

The question of whether you *can* road trip an EV is secondary to whether you *should*. It's inconvenient, anxiety-inducing, and often less than pleasurable. Someday EVs may be ready for this application for the average person, but....not yet.

It probably didn’t necessarily generate that much, taking into account that apart from regenerating it also recalculates the total range based on driving style and when going downhill obviously it thinks you are consuming less

They do. It's called the "Wraith". Edit: Just now realized the Wraith (& Dawn!) have been discontinued for a while now, so silly me. I suppose if you did want the V12 in a Rolls that's not the size of a town bus, your best bet now is the Ghost. But you have to buy it quick, bc it too is going to be on the chopping block soon (to make way for the EV version).

Just watched your content for the first time and i like it a lot! You are a good presenter and the montage is spot on 👍 But your sound leveling can be much improved. Music is way to loud to your voice and voiceover. Try lowering the music 6-12db (depending on the music used)…. Balance will be much better 👍

The Biggest Mistake that BMW/Rolls Royce have made is making a Deal with Tesla to allow at leat RR use their charging network as there be No conflict as Tesla will never have a RR rival etc . WTF No, you rarely ever spend that much time charging. Vast majority of times where you drive less than 400km in one day. It takes 30 SECONDs of your time to charge with Level 2 private charger. Fueling up takes more of your time.
