If being a doctor doesn't require being super smart in your book, then you must have some shitty doctors! LOL
@alphaznth105010 жыл бұрын
Zeke Rodriguez Oh are we playing the game of argument from authority? No need. Doctors do not synthesize the drugs, doctors do not isolate specific genetic strands that are responsible for uncontrolled mitotic division aka cancer, doctors do not discover, learn, isolate, target and destroy specific pathogens which causes specific diseases, doctors do not invent the technological devices. The geneticists, the neurologists, the chemist, the physicists, the mathematician (mapping genetics etc.), the statistician (determining probability of certain events hence risk factors etc.) etc., the people behind the science, who *innovate* with *intelligence* and *creativity*, the doctors then learn and repeat what they are *told to do*. Doctors only save lives if the people behind the research exist.

I always happy that a dark Indian girl won this contest, as opposed to a light skinned Indian girl. Although old school racism from the 1950s is mostly gone (not completely) colorism will be around for a long, long time. All the racists that called Nina a terrorists or Al-Quaeda probably would be just fine if some light skinned, White passing Iranian or Lebanese girl won Miss America. I mean who brings up Gigi Hadid's race?

You are talking about the Siddi (population: 50,000) & the Jarawa (population: 250) communities of India. Both of them are of African descent but not of Dravidian. They constitute 0.004% of India's 1.2 billion population. And they never mixed with the rest of India. Siddi were brought in India as African slaves by the Portuguese, British & the Arabs between the 16th &19th centuries. While Jarawa tribe is living in the forests of the Andaman Islands, which is separated from the mainland India.
@rash987611 жыл бұрын
No, genetic studies shows that they are native to South India & not related to any group outside it. But as the South India has hot & humid temperature throughout the year, people there are dark. BTW, I am North Indian but I can distinguish between South Indians & Africans any time because, leaving behind the color, they have different features. e.g. the girl above has pointed nose, straight hair & other non-African features. For details, google: 'ABC Science Gene study reveals Indian origins'
@rash987611 жыл бұрын
Her parents are from South India & she is of Dravidian ethnicity. And as far as skin color is concerned, people of South Indian descent do look like Africans. But they don't have flat-noses or curly hair.

Nina Daviluri has created history not by beauty alone, but showing talents, smart positive answers, and future achiever for the benefit of America. All future girls who wants the title must take a cue from her. Some dumbass dude commenting about cousin.. In what way cousin marriages related to Miss American? There are cases in Islam Muslim marrying brother's daughter. Just as Prophet married his own multiple wives children. Not among Indians,

Actually, I'm Indian & Christian. I don't believe in idol worshipping and stuff but to say that they kill themselves if their kids marry outside of their race? That's a stretch. My parents are Indian and they'd prefer if I married somebody from my own culture because it's easier to adjust and you have a lot in common. But they're so chills - they told me they would not mind if I fell in love with a "non-Indian" and married him. Don't generalize (:

it's not always like that dude. where i've been to, it's actually much different- men are total gentlemen and pure at heart. theres the few people who still have the nurturing quality. and even if they did marry cousins, they would be distant cousins.like 10th cousins or something. but 2nd cousin marriage does happen, but very very less probable than marriage with two people whose families are very distant.

Thanks for not saying ALL of us are like that. They say your comment has too many negative votes. They are the ones you're talking about. I agree with you. Pure ignorance and lack of home training, added with plain prejudice. I bet when they go out in public, like to their jobs, they don't act like that. One person of color has done something that they don't like, so they lump all into the same. The judges have a hard job, but I think they made a great choice. She's smart, pretty, classy.

India is a country, in countries people have different religions. Muslims believe in the concept of cousin marriage and are also living in India. It depends on religion and your own beliefs for cousin marriage, not the country itself. I'm British-Indian with Sikh and Hindu religious heritage but don't oppose to the idea of c-marriage if two people are in love, even though Sikhism which is my prominent background is highly against it. ANYWAY WELL DONE NINA!! :D

Marrying with the cousin or even any distant family relative is prohibited in Hinduism - which over 80% Indians follows. And Hindus/non-Muslims in India never marry with their cousins. Only Pakistani/Indian Muslims marry their cousins as it's permitted in Islam. So, you are right in case of Pakistan as its 98% population is Muslim but not in case of India whose 86% population is non-Muslim.

Hinduism says there are 330 millions gods but doesnt force anybody to pray everyone or anyone of them , as tomtomtom specified if you look up Arya Samaj and about Swamy Dayananda Saraswati (who didn't believe in idol worshipping ) and have a lot of followers , also India doesn't only mean Hindus , there are Christians and Muslims here too, India is full of diversity and you can't genralise anything from one person's point of view about india.

I saw a comment regarding someone saying that Indians marry cousins and that's rubbish. We don't even marry within the same hierarchy at all. BTW, I would love to marry a girl from another country if she wanna come and stay here in India. Hehe.....but, living here for Westerners isn't easy. You need to have a lot of patience here. It's safer than any other country though despite what you read and hear on the news. That's all bullshit.

I am an Indian ( living in India) and i am not an idol worshipper and i believe in all cultures and religion . I dont know where you get your facts from , reading a page about indian culture on wikipedia doesn't make you Mr Know it All. Visit India and meet some indians , then you'll know what they believe in , and for your knowledge Hinduism is a culture which offers freedom to everyone to believe in whatever they want to.
