You'll see people who are super white, super dark, and of medium skin tones. I happen to be Indian and I'm in that light-medium skin tone range. 100% real. I was just speaking out of anger that in the movies I have seen, the "common" brown woman or dark woman is just a prop to the exotic light-skinned woman, who has photoshop and lighting on her side to make her look paler. I'm sorry for the offensive comment I made, I do believe what you said is true. It's just that brown women seem to be second rate in India. Correct if I am wrong. It's like my eyes are opening to things...like I am very, very fair for a white person, sometimes my skin looks almost pure white. And I find in the media in the US (don't know where you live right now) that this penchant for pale skin is very prevelant here, so many beauty commercials subtley featuring women lightening their skin.
