Miss Kay's Hospitality, Tossing Out Food Laws, and How to Stop Fueling Cancel Culture | Ep 242

Miss Kay takes the practice of hospitality to a whole new level. Phil and Jase are glad we're no longer bound by the old food laws, especially when shrimp is on the menu. The guys tackle the great fallacy of cancel culture, how cancel culture is really the opposite of what God does, and how we can stop providing this ungodly phenomenon the fuel it needs. They also discuss God and favoritism, the difference between being baptized by the Holy Spirit and being baptized in water, and the greatest weapon the world has ever known.

Momma and Daddy raised 10 kids and we were dirt poor . We didn't have meat at every meal, but we had enough of whatever we had to satisfy us . Someone was usually always living with us. On Sundays, Momma cooked chicken off the yard and family and friends knew it, so they showed up at dinner with their families to eat. In those days, adults ate first, and then the children were fed. Never knew how anything in the chicken tasted except for the back, neck, and wing. LOL

My husband and I were from WV & now live in VA due to employment. I cook for my husband & son the animals they harvest, including deer, rabbit, dove, wild turkey. We have squirrel but not the way Miss Kay fixes it. We boil it until it is tender. The squirrel is rolled in flour and fried. The broth that is left is made into squirrel gravy. Then it served with mashed potatoes, homemade biscuits, and a vegetable.

My aunt was invited to preach two nights at an all black church in Mississippi. I went with her to hear her sermon. The first night went okay, though the preacher of the church had gone on a rant about not being welcomed in a white church the week before. Then on the second night, the preacher specifically attacked my mother and I (my mother had joined us the second night). I would have walked right out and shook the dust of that place from my feet if I had not ridden with my aunt and mother. The hypocrisy of throwing a fit about being treated badly in an all white church, then turning that wrath on three white guests to your church is amazing! Guess what preacher, you are behaving no differently than the church that treated you wrong! You are not more righteous than they! What did we have to do with that incident or church? In contrast, I was invited by a coworker to visit her church, which happened to be all black, and I was welcomed and treated like they wanted me there. That’s how churches should be. Welcome everyone! I live in a very small Louisiana town. There are three denominations of church there. Each Thanksgiving week one of the churches hosts the others for a service and potluck feast. The host church changes each year. It is a wonderful experience! The churches help each other out when needed. It makes our small town feel like a family. We are always going to different events at the other churches. We all believe the most important thing: Jesus is God, he was born as a man and died for our sins. He defeated death and rose on the 3rd day. He gave us the Holy Spirit and returned to heaven to prepay pls e for those of us that believe on him.

My dad was the oldest of 13 children. His father was a Cumberland Presbyterian preacher. They worked a farm and picked cotton for a way of life. Now only thing that was strange, dad was the only boy until 4 years later. The ages of the 13 was spread out over 21 years, and dad joined the Navy at age 17. He was in the North Pacific fleet in the Aluetian islands aboard the USS Richmond.

Today we take DNA tests and every causation has 1% of African . Since we know biology and it is in the bible. We are one people. How can you discrimate from your brother and sister. Brothers, I don't think you intend to bring heavy conviction every time I hear you, but I will admit that I have regretted my decision to pursue a mostly useless bachelor's degree using my 51-month education entitlement after I left the Navy (forty-six years ago). I earned the degree, with honors, but only used it to make a living for four years. I had only first believed on Jesus Christ less than a year before I left the Navy, and had thought far too little of the idea of going to a Bible college before I went back to a state university for the useless degree, so while there was a decent outcome I don't think it was the best path I could have chosen. Now in my 70th year, I don't think there's much for me to do except keep studying my Bible, praying, proclaiming the Gospel when I get the chance, and so forth. It will probably have to be enough for me. I thank our God and Savior that there are so many resources available online; as it is I probably spend four to six hours or more per day listening to content such as yours, and that from John MacArthur, Tom Ascol, Ben Merkle, Douglas Wilson, R.C. Sproul, Stephen Lawson, and a good many others. I started out life in the Churches of Christ, and I realize that is an appropriate description of your background, but what you teach so strongly differs very greatly from anything I ever heard before God saved me it is an amazing thing. So, thank you, and may the Gospel go forth from you for many years and to new generations to come. Thank you, Brothers.

I have gotten lazy I guess and don't cook much anymore. For some reason I really don't like to cook much like I used to. Being 70 might have something to do with it😳😂

Not getting the nutrients from the gmo foods could be part of the reason, I love cooking with vegetables I grow and good meat, however when I have to cook food from the grocery store it seems more like a chore... idk why, but think it has to do with nutrients and how the body reacts... or maybe it is just a mental thing with me.. 😆

We need to realize that we are ALL made in God’s image! Heaven isn’t divided and we won’t be divided by skin color or character when we stand before the One who saved our souls. When we finally see Jesus, we will see ourselves! When The Father looks at the Son, He see all of us...those who truly believe and trust in His name!

Listening to part of a sermon this morning and the pastor said considering marriage that the Lord never mentions anything about race in who we should marry, but just believer or unbeliever as in believers should not marry unbelievers. The same goes for race on all other aspects. It's not about race and it is a tragedy that people want to make everything else, those that do that use race as an excuse need the Lord and we need to pray for them.

I think race is just another way to cover for hate in people's hearts. If you hate someone, you hate them, doesn't really matter what your excuse is in the end. We are directed not to hate.
