The moment I saw Michelle came out, RBonney pops into my head. Her gown and look reminds me of RBonney, which is not a good thing. If she made the semis, she need to compete with a look is hers and hers alone. It appears Nicaragua is the one to beat and she has zero sash factor.

Rbonneys gown and hers are very different.. like Thailand and Colombia's gown you see that design every now and then... How come its common to you. She has one of the unique gowns aside from Ukraines strange gown. Nicaraguas gown is a common gown but she carry it with grace and a great smile while she walk. At least this is just the prelims.

Guatemala’s gown 🇬🇹 was a work of art! It was complex, modern, elongated her figure and not everyone can rock those colors and cut. She wore it beautifully and it enhanced her beauty. It was so different from the typical transparent, rhinestone or nude looks. Those colors were so emblematic of the country’s natural colors, Guatemala is after all the land of eternal spring and the dress just worked nicely with the background screens.

Pakistan for me has the most beautiful gown. Nicaragua is the best performer, but her gown isn't that classy for me. Philippines' gown can only be worn by her, not for everyone, tho' she nailed it. Nepal has all guts and she made it. France and Thailand are let downs, sad. The rest has repeat gowns from previous years

Philippines' gown is the only gown that is wearable, the rest looks like redundant gowns in pageants. Semi nude, see-through gold silver foil, bold colours that clashes skin and hair colour, and dont forget the long wavy hair. Barbie costumes are better 🥱🤣🤣🤣

Philippines Michelle Dee´s gown has story to tell, make a research about it. All about her is definitely a Miss Universe 2023 should have. Eloquent, beautiful, well educated, a real advocate, with magnetic charm plus the fact that the mother is also a beauty queen. At least the gown is not pink that you really dislike :D The gown is heavy yes, Blame Swarovski. I also like El Salvador and Peru´s gown. I cheer for Philippines!

hi Rina, thanks! I'm going to rock the boat. I personally have an opinion that the face must always be more than the dress or colour of the dress. My favourites are Chile, Colombia, Thailand, Lebanon, Nicaragua and South Africa. Yes, I was also disappointed by some of the gowns, but here again my reasons were others.

Wow! I pretty much agree with everything you said. Comments on point! I just disagree on India, who I thought was one of the best of the night, and I loved seeing her vibrant personality during the EG competition. My standouts of the night were South Africa, Philippines (I love her!!!! even though her gown was not my fav), India, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Colombia, Australia and Thailand. These are my definite Top 10. I have to say that Nepal, Panama and Costa Rica surprised me and I would not be surprised to see them advancing. As a French, I am sooooo disappointed by the choices made for and by Diane who really should have been better prepared. She is stunning, with so much potential, but she really was out of place on this stage. This gown, not bad on its own, is unforgivable for a Miss Universe pageant!

i appreciate the fact you were willing to give criticism to nepal, and i share the same sentiment regarding the gown. most other reviewers just kept echoing “yes, inclusivity” and they were speaking about her bravery and courage and very little about her performance. which goes to show that inclusivity bias is a thing, and it can be negative, because if she was the same size as other girls, people would’ve judged her walk and performance appropriately.

Rina comments are indeed harsh. Has she ever been a contestant in any beauty contest let alone Ms Universe? She has a right to her opinions on the gowns she liked and those she didn't like BUT, she needs to be more sensitive in her comments. It seems her vocabulary is very limited as she does not know how to be gentle but firm in her comments especially of the gowns she does not favour.

The Ms Philippines gown are inspired by the snake pose and walk she is doing and emerald green is inspired by her mother who won ms international in 1979 and her cousin who also wore green color in and she won as well. The cut out of the gown meant to highlight her features and if you look at the gown the cut out resembles a snake her pose where she put her hand behind and her left arm was outward represents a snake pose.

Agree with you on almost everything. Venezuela performed and had a nice evening gown. I do not think she is as facially stunning as previous Miss V titleholders. Yet, she has something interesting. Angola was a surprise to me. She looked so naturally beautiful. Nicaragua, USA, South Africa, Thailand, Colombia, Venezuela are some of my favs. USA could actually win this. I hope others aren’t underestimating her.

As an Indian I agree with your commentary on India. Her performance was a hit for many but it was a miss for me, specially the fast hand movement with the caps. That was wild. France was huge disappointment, Thailand did not meet expectations. Nicaragua and Puerto Rico were best in evening gown.
