I am not fond and initially have always been a critic to Michelle Dee. I had all these doubts and questions for her. Advices here and there. I'm so proud she PROVED me very wrong. Since arriving at El Salvador she's always been consistent and rose to the top. You did sooo well. Very well. Congratulations MMD, You made an excellent job and we are so proud of you. The best Miss Universe we never had. Aside from the 1st runner up finish of Janine Tugonon in 2012, you're the latest heartbreak we have. It's just too sad because she deserves to have a spot in the Top 5 so much than the others. Even other nationalities agrees. 😢

I'm so happy that a non-sash factor country like Nicaragua won Miss Universe for a change. It goes to show that eventually the best woman wins regardless of sash factor. Miss Nicaragua was my favorite from the start and she did not disappoint. Shyennis was insanely phenomenal. She delivered a flawless performance both in the preliminaries and finals, I mean talk about consistency. She absolutely deserved it, no questions asked whatsoever. All the stars were aligned for her on that historical night and the MU crown was truly meant for her head and it actually matched her beautiful gown. Love love love her. I have to say that the 72nd MU pageant is one of the best if not the best edition I've seen so far. A lot of contestants made history and the production was satisfactory. So thank you El Salvador and congratulations Nicaragua!

MIss R’bonney’s gown, I think, was meant to dominate. It looks too dramatic for me and should be worn in operettas. A more queenly gown might be more appropriate. And I think the farewell walk attire should include the crown.

Thailand cheated. The original Top 5 list that MU Instagram posted last night prior to the live announcement had Ms. Philippines in the Top 5. "7 minutes" later the list was revised and had Ms. THAILAND instead of Ms. Philippines---technical error or a "last minute switch" by Ms. Anne, the THAI CEO? Hmmmmmm...Google it, the original list is posted all over the internet. Even the camera man was focusing on Ms. Philippines during the announcement because he had the original list before it was revised!

Miss Philippines black gown is a tribute a design exactly like the tattoo in the body of the iconic 106 yrs old female tattoo artist in the Philippines which up to now is still active in doing the art of tattooing. The green gown during the prelims is also a tribute to her mother who wear the same color when she won the miss international 1979.yes her mother is miss international '79 and first runner up in the super model of the world 1986.(just saying😊for info)

Nicaragua's final answer was phenomenal though. It got lost in translation but thank godness most of the judges knew spanish. "I would choose Mary Wollstonecraft as she was the first woman who opened the way for women's rights and would do everything possible to ensure that the salary gaps at that time were the perfect opportunity for many women to work in any area in which they can perform, because there are no limits to the women. We can and we have the capacity. That was in 1756, 2023 making history."

The Philippines evening gown is so regal and iconic! It’s befitting the crown and a victor but I’m seriously baffled on how in the hell didn’t she make it to the top 5 at the least? I have so many questions! Her preliminary performance and her finals both the swimsuit and evening gown is fantastic. She killed everyone in the evening gown showdown. She aced all of the segments! Something is not right here. She bagged three awards and her credentials are solid. I guess they did everything they could to prevent her from holding the mic. She would’ve demolished them all.

At the end...any beauty paegent should be about overall performance....Michelle dee is a wonderful girl agreed...but stage presence and persona wise...Nicaragua was miles ahead...she has a charming personality and tremendous preliminary performance...she was the no. 1 in that....and in interacting with people also she is flamboyant....Michelle has a different kind of aura...more intense and serious....it is neither a philanthropic competition nor an oratory competition...I have always believed that one who has the best stage presence beauty pasarella...combined with fairly good speaking and interactive skills and a magnetic personality should always be the winner...and Nicaragua ticks all the boxes....so she is the rightful winner according to me....and I believe even if Phillipines went to top 5 and Phillipines and Nicaragua were the last two standing then also Nicaragua should have and would have won...other country contestants also deserve the same amount of love and respect❤ ultimately they all are already winners in their own right and beautiful ambassadors of their countries❤

The question for Ms. Thailand about bullying was more suitable for Ms. Philippines because she experienced a lot of bullying and bashing from thai fans. Some post a picture and claimed that she undergone surgery but Ms. Philippine handles every bashing really great. Even though she was bashed she still encourages every Pilipino to be nice and show bayanihan (helping each other) in this time to support the country. Can you think about where the justice is? In the final round, Miss Nicaragua strategically answered questions sentence by sentence for the interpreter to translate from Spanish into English. This gave her more time to expand her answer than anyone else. which I view as taking advantage of competitors As for Miss Thailand and Miss Australia Answers in English must be answered immediately. There is no time to think about the answer. If I were the judge I will make Miss Thailand to take the crown. Miss Australia was the 1st runner-up and Miss Nicaragua was the 2nd runner-up.

LOL, if you will evaluate it with the time frame required for each candidate to answer, then whether you accept it or not Nicaragua had more time than the rest. Come to think of it, those candidates who speak different language: judges must ask the question in their native language then candidates answer in her language then interpret the answer in English. This removes the doubt of favoring a candidate over another. It is just an honest observation. If I were one of the organizers of the MU, before candidates start training to perfect their walk, their body, and their beauty…learn the language first. They used their money for years to train and in those span of years never stepped up to learn the English language? 😂

Phillipines I think in black was a bit heavy but nice design.. she had no butt and a bit on thin side. Her hair maybe a bit longer. Thailand is much better looking than phillipines but australia had the body and personality in the media interviews on you tube. But nicuqua had it all.

There was even a screenshot that Philippines is already on the top 5 and after 10 mins they replaced her to Thailand. And even the camera man already knew that the next to be called is the Philippines that why the camera was focused on her already to be the next candidate.

The Miss USA/Universe costume I think was derived from her Philippine heritage in the Muslim Mindanao. If you see the costume of the Muslim Princess dance it's actually an awesome costume. She just didn't pick the right color. Thanks for sharing your views.

Top 5 has been picked even before the evening gown. What transpired after that and before the Q&A was just for formality. If the basis for top 5 was solely the evening gown performance with that gown and perf it is impossible for MMD to not be included in top 5. However, I'm still curious though, if they just don't want PH to be in top 5 because what can Miss PH do when she has won the Voice for a Cause and she did performed. So something is really fishy. Nevertheless, I'm happy for Nicaragua winning, that's a history. Not liking the fact how they pushed Thailand to win though, good thing she didn't 😅 and BTW that's the sloppiest Q&A portion in the entire MU history and the weakest top 5. If we'll pick one of the top 5 from Miss Universe 2018, that woman could've easily won. This years MU is a ney, good thing...they crowned Nicaragua, that's resolved everything but it's another story if they crowned Thailand, I'm not sorry.

lol I really dont understand why some girls require an interpreter when a question is asked during qna but churn out perfect English when they answer. Its also dodgy to pause for the interpreter mid answer (I think they said the interpreter‘s time does not count against the girl answering)… but the girl uses that time to formulate a better answer.

One of my biggest pet peeves was not knowing where the next pageant will be held so when they announced Mexico as the 2024 I was relieved to know the 2024 host but nervous as an American as Miss USA has never had a positive experience when Mexico hosted in 1993 and 2007 being booed by Mexican fans. Congrats Sheynnis! Congrats Nicaragua! I think Botswana or Angola would be good future host who held Miss Universe winners. I want South Africa to host too but would need help.

Choose your words Miss Rina. Don't get us wrong. We are very happy for Miss Nicaragua, she truly deserves it. What we are just qustioning is how come Miss Phillipines didnt included in top 5, despite her sterling performances. That's all we are asking. And that in mind, we saw post in Miss Universo that Philippines was among the top 5. At least explain it to us. We are being called that filipinos don't know to accept defeat. Very untrue! We know if our representative's capability, if she deserve to loose or win. And we respect judges decision too. It's competition, so, there is only one winner. And yes, we love and Philippines is always behind our representative, becasue we consider that her/his fight is also our fight. We just thought, Michelle deserved at least in top 5. Congrats for Nigaragua. I strongly believe that timing and fairness rules were n’t enforced during the final question. others 2 contestants had more advantage on hearing the question while Anntonia was answering it first . I don’t remember that MUO ever let this happen in the past. Using translator on the top of that definitely add even more advantage to Nicaragua. She had more time to think between the translation.She actually took longer than 30 seconds answering the question as well. This competition really let me down. I thought the owner is really care about making the competition fair. It was like an Olympic competition that everyone is judged by the same rules , winning fair and square. The reality is they have failed to do so. It was so disappointing.

Apparently the Miss Universe organization is looking for "TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERS",is Nicaragua a personification of that? Her advocacy is about rescuing abandoned dogs,cats & a bit of motivational talks about mental health. Is that part of being a TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADER,which earned her the Miss Universe crown? Just wanted to share some thoughts with you. I truly believe that Miss Philippines has more to offer, and it might just have been a mistake to replace her name in the top 5 list. I have a feeling that if given the chance, she would have given the best answer among all the candidates. Miss Nicaragua definitely deserves the crown, but if Miss Philippines makes it to the top 3, there will be a close fight for the crown. The owner of the Pageant should explain what happend on the switching of name

My support was mostly for Miss El Salvador (my birth Country) and USA (I am citizen) I only followed the competition, because I wanted to see everyone enjoying my Country. Colombia, USA, Spain, Finland, Laos, Great Britain were super friendly. My Salvadoran people love people, they supported all, but Nepal won their hearts, she was very surprised and touched!

You should not have been in shock for Namibia. Had her in my top 20. Jamaica was the only one that i never considered that entered the top 20. Two best in swimsuit this year for me were Nicaragua and Philippines. Now between Palacios this year and Gray in 2018, i would put Nicaragua ahead of Catriona. So happy Nicaragua won!!!

Nicaragua's answer is wrong. The answer in the final 3 rounds: Mary was born in 1759, but in Nicaragua the answer is 1750. Is this the wrong information given by the judges? Amazing. I think the person who deserves the crown the most is Antonia because she answered without thinking time to answer intelligently. Unlike in Nicaragua, an interpreter is used so there is time to think of an answer. Thailand is my universe. She's not just beautiful or smart. But she is a very kind person.👑🇹🇭💕
