because they're stupid. but it happens irl too! a woman in south korea finds secret vhs tapes of her husband that contains snuff with missing children and instead of taking the evidence immediately to the police, she waits for her husband to come back home and ask him about those. the man goes to prison for murdering his wife's brother later. after 3 years passed woman finally tells the police what she saw. they search but of course they never find the tapes.

It was a test which she failed, thats when the dad knew that she wasnt his daughter. The girl ran in her room crying because she knew she had blown it and that her lies might have been discovered. She decided to avoid the man and stay closer to the woman thereafter because the woman hadnt yet noticed and was always on her side.
