While this whole story is shocking, the fact that an 18 year old girl who is 8 months pregnant and homeless is in such a desperate position that she meets up with a stranger off Craigslist to have sex in some random ass park in the middle of the night for just $50 is absolutely heartbreaking..
@Taelyr Жыл бұрын
So true. Why couldn’t she just live with her mom? She was barely 18, her mom seemed like she didn’t get involved in her daughter’s personal life at all. Idk, I’m best friends with my mom and I couldn’t imagine her letting me live on the streets pregnant and a teenager. I’m not saying this was her fault at all, but I do believe her mom let her down.
@androgynylunacy Жыл бұрын
Yea, her mom let her down. Her mom was clearly emotionally absent. I thought that too I would never let my pregnant daughter be on the street. It is dangerous out there. That shows a lack of care and concern. And she was basically still a child, if you ask me. Like wtff. And I bet the mom doesn't lose one wink of sleep at night knowing she allowed her pregnant teenage daughter to be out on the streets. No sense of "it was partly my fault" in any way.

Without consent, it's cruelty and criminal. With consent, it's providing a safe space to be vulnerable. The physical acts are part of a psychological and physiological experience rather than an end unto themselves. Is THAT what you call teenage hijinks? I can tell you don't have kids otherwise you'd ask why and how she got to that point. And no her mother never requested to a welfare check nor any other legal means to get this under control before she ended up advertising sex on Craigslist. She did not finish highschool and got pregnant at 17 by an abusive manipulated 25y/o man whom she'd been sleeping with since 15. Talk to me about where her mother was during her teen years and the statutory rape charge filed against Charlie. No? Cause there was none. Soooo at 15 she had no control whatsoever? You cannot be that dense. And "...no control over what they become when they are adults"????? SHE WASN'T AN ADULT. Did you miss that? All this was done to a very misguided, lost, drug addicted, codependent, low self esteemed pregnant teen girl. If she was 30 and this happened no one would care if she was hooking in a park pregnant and on drugs at midnight with Charlie. And yeah he'd done this before with her. It was not the first time he had her do that for money. There is far more to the "behind the scenes" but if you want to lay this ALL at the feet of poor girl that needed guidance and better parenting when she hit puberty, then by all means, Deb is a saint and a perfect mother.@@abelis644

What I truly can't fathom is the fact that these kids had seemingly normal parents with homes of their own and yet, their kids opted to live their lives in uncertainty, poverty and crime. Why? I'd rather live with my parents (as I did) until I put my ducks in a row than hooking up with some trash people, couch-surfing, and being ass broke+begging strangers for money. Kids, stay on your ass, educate yourselves, get a job, and THEN move out and find your ways. ☹️

I think there’s likely a lot left out of the story for the sake of giving the victims dignity. I understand this, but I also can’t fathom putting myself in a situation like this. No one deserves what happened to these kids, but I feel most for her unborn child who never had a chance. The parents failed her before she was ever allowed to grow up and make her own mistakes. You'd be surprised at the number of women who will invite me into their home with their young children having never met me. You'd be baffled at the number of women I've been able to lure down a single lane dirt road to a shack deep in the forest by telling them "oh, there's no address but just drive to the end of the road and keep going into the trees...just ignore the hundreds of 'no trespassing' signs flanking the 'road' and keep going until you get to a gate. I have guns so don't be startled when you get here." AND THEY DO IT. They say things like, "please don't be a serial killer." AND THEY STILL DO IT. Once I borrowed a friend's van for a group camping trip. When I arrived, I hopped out and yelled, "hey everyone...I have puppies and candy in here." ...you know, to be funny cause it's stereotypical. But EVERY SINGLE WOMAN came running over. I've never met them before either so it's not like they recognized me as someone they knew. It was hilarious...I was baffled that actually still works. People gave Ted bundy too much credit...he didn't charm anyone. Women make terribly risky decisions.

His behaviors as described by roommates points directly to a psychosis of unrealistic anxiety about normal things. That "bottle peeing" is very much connected to extreme OCD, as is the really messy surroundings and failure to bathe (remember Howard Hughes?). It is also connected to the aggressive hand-shaking. He cannot control his anxiety, but he can exert control through a handshake, by showing off his firearms in front of children, and engaging in fantasy role-playing games. Finding ways to be dominant probably balanced his un-diagnosed psychosis, which helped "flip the switch" into an alternate reality.
