Missing in North America: Strange Disappearances

Hey all, in the first disappearance involving Thomas Carleton, I called him Carl a couple of times during the disappearance - this is obviously a mistake that I'd accidentally carried over from a mistake in an article. I just wanted to say that here to make sure it was clear. There are some pretty strange disappearances in this one and I was hoping to add more, but I wasn't able to get them all finished, so I'll try to put out a slightly shorter video sooner than usual that explores the others! Aside from that, what do you make of the news talking about all this UAP business? Think it really is something odd? Or are they ours? Edit: I didn't mean to upset / make anyone annoyed over my pronunciation of Adirondacks, I heard Google Translate say it that way and I just rolled with it. I didn't realize I'd been lied to! 😂 Now that I have endured a thorough roasting from the comments, I've learned the error of my ways! 😂

Aw, I am tearing up for the Rangers who died in training. When I was enlisted in the USAF, I hung out withJolly Green, the Air Force search and rescue. Very few make it through the training, and they also have survival schools. It really burns me up when commenters whine about a search being called off. They don't put themselves through all that to sit idle. These are highly motivated men. They want to find that missing person.

People please carry a rescue beacon with you. It doesnt take up.too much space, and it can save your life. Also carry a GPS...i got lost in the woods for a short time and the GPS lead me back to my car

A small compact mirror can accomplish this pretty well. 3 flashes about a second apart is the standard "SOS" message, I believe. Just remember to give much longer pauses between sets of three flashes.

I hike out alone all the time.....if they want you....there's nothing you can do. More dangerous in cities with so many humans around. I commend people that walk around large cities. I just can't, most humans have evil beings attached to them. And they know I can see them so they irritate the humans to hate me. Hateful creatures. They don't even know why they hate me.

I used to hike alone in the woods all the time as well but a few years back I had an incident where there was some random screaming deep in the middle of a remote forest. I initially thought it was a person, who may have been injured on a trail and calling for help, but when I started moving closer I realised the screams definitely weren't human. Like it must have been an injured or panicked animal, however they were really loud, like aggressive and echoing. I'm usually okay during the day, as opposed to night, but it was still pretty creepy and I decided to avoid it and go in the opposite direction. The sun was setting, but it wasn't going to be dark for another 1-2 hours. About 5 minutes later I heard the exact same loud screaming noise again but this time in a totally different direction, towards the direction I was walking. It instantly sent a shiver down my spine. I then also suddenly began to feel like I was being watched but did my best to relax and just get the hell out of there. I could still hear the screams behind me as I followed a trail, when suddenly I walked out from behind a tree and saw a deer lying there which had been disemboweled with its intestines and organs pulled out and strewn over the ground. The deer was still alive slightly, moving its eyes and lips. I could still hear the screaming noise behind me and I realised it wasn't the deer. I have never ran so hard or fast in all my life. I probably ran a mile before slowing down and stopping to catch my breath. I could still hear the faint screams behind me, deep into the forest. I had no idea what was causing the screams or what had attacked the deer. I also realised I was on the wrong trail and still another mile or so from the nearest road, so I speedwalked my way out of there. I couldn't hear the screaming noises anymore but I still felt like I was being watched and I felt very uneasy being there. As I approached the road I realised an 8 foot wire fence stopped me from getting out of the woods onto the road. This further unnerved me as I felt trapped and it was starting to get a bit dark at this point. There wasn't any cars using the road either, so I still felt very much isolated with no help around. I followed the fence for about 10 minutes until I found a way out and it took another 20 minutes before I saw the first car.

New York's wilderness has had some of the scariest missing never to be seen again a few times. When the FBI shows up for adults you know it is very serious.

@@MissingVoidTV Would be a a lot to write here but the opening of 411 hunted was a real older man in a big group hunting. The younger men tried to drive any deer to him and 6 others or 5(all older men) all sitting with guns and he was gone. Someone heard a noise never heard before like a huge snap or high voltage sound. Nothing was ever found and then just 10 days or so 40 miles south a women went to a thanksgiving event and left her husband at their farm and he was gone never to be seen. Some or all of the search crew on the first was sent down to this one.

I went through those swamps when I was in Ranger School. They aren't a joke. It's a very dangerous area. It has wildlife, deep mud, and a lot of rivers. There is also black bear in the area, believe it or not. Our ranger instructors had to scare some off once. Oh, and lots of snakes!

I was lost in dense forest in the Big Belt Mountains in Montana. It was September and the weather turned bad with wind and snow. I was prepared with water and a little food. I also had a light down parks and quick dry hiking pants. I was so deep in the forest I was convinced that I would die if I stayed put. I also knew that if I didn’t keep moving I was going to die of hypothermia.. I knew no one would find me and I had to get myself out. After the first night I was hallucinating and saw and heard many strange things. I hiked about 9 miles out of the mountains but it wasn’t until the next day that I was able to get to a place of help. That’s another entire story. There was a time up there that I was so cold and wet I just wanted to take my clothes off. It was a very strong urge but I resisted it. I also kept hearing this internal voice that told me to just lie down and rest and it would be all over. I resisted all of this and I RESCUED MYSELF! God was definitely with me and I am convinced my faith and prayers of my family and friends got me out of there. I just want to say it is very hard to resist those irrational thoughts of shedding clothes and giving up and lying down.

@@soaringeagle9597 I kept hearing music like old country music but there were no people in this dense forest. I also saw a whirling black bear that vanished. I saw a ATV coming toward me that just vanished. I thought I saw cars parked on a ridge and after I walked several miles towards this ridge I saw that the cars were pine trees. I then saw 4 antelope on top of a ridge. I walked towards them and that’s when I saw a way out that took another day but I got out. Ever since I have a special love of the Pronghorn Antelope.

If you're looking for ideas/topics, I've lived in the upper Skagit valley at the foothills of the North Cascades, including the North Cascades National Park in Washington State (USA) for around 20 years and we get A LOT of missing people, suspicious deaths, body parts found, etc. We just had another hiker go missing on the Hidden Lakes trail outside of Marblemount about 12 days ago. They just scaled back the search due to high avalanche danger and the likelihood that this experienced hiker (he has previously hiked this trail before as well) wasn't equipped for more than a day hike. Thanks again for the great content you consistently upload. 💜

The story of the little boy in the swamp is mind blowing! Especially when you have highly trained military men acknowledging that this area was almost impossible for them to traverse. Thankfully it had a happy ending and I’m really glad that you pointed out that the man must have been singing with or to him in the boat... that little detail was really heartwarming. I agree that there has to be a reason when certain areas have the word ‘devil’ et al in the name. Whomever named it must have known something. It would be fun to research that. I have lived on Eglin afb, live in okaloosa county, and my parents live on the south side of the Eglin conservation. There are tons of bears, alligators and poisonous snakes out there, my dog survived a bear attack on the conservation when we lived on Eglin. Our creeks and rivers are known for being really clean, most of us drink from them when camping. But I wanted to let you know that my ex husband and I saw a Bigfoot clear as day, with red fur, on the Eglin conservation near the base several years ago. So Maybe they helped Taylor?

Just outside Eglin in the Blackwater River State Forest is one of my favorite spots to find eastern diamondback rattlesnakes(Crotalus adamenteus) and other snake and turtle/tortoise species. Steve Irwin actually filmed an episode of Crocodile Hunter at Eglin AFB. One of my favorite episodes!

No one has disappeared with both a beacon and a weapon but just a weapon or gps beacon people have gone missing. Seems like having both and staying in the middle of the line is the safest statistically

Many countries don't allow people to have weapons by law. If you take someone with you be sure of their good character as many people will get you into trouble by behaving in unsafe ways. If someone goes off of track do not follow them. You can not help someone else that way.

I live in Panama City Florida,not far from Okaloosa County and have heard the story about the boy being found and everyone just being astounded but over joyed to say the least! Being from this area ,you would have to know how dangerous these swamps are and that that the only answer is,it was a miracle and God saw him through! I also believe in the first case that you should always trust the dogs nose and instincts! Thank you Adam,and hey we only had to get bizzare once this time ,if I remember correctly!Lol! Love it!

I lived in Colorado for quite a long time, and one of the things that interest me the most about this is that Pike's Peak is an extremely well-developed area. it's the only Fourteener (any mountain that exceeds 14,000 feet) that you can actually drive to the top. There is an annual car race and foot race that many people take a part in every year. There is also a tram that goes to the top where there is a gift shop and donut place (They make a recipe that can only be baked at those altitudes). In light of how much tourism and how developed the mountain is, Search & Rescue really do know the mountain intimately, which makes it all the more bizarre that those two men were lost for so long

I'm not a professional, but I would never underestimate a dog. I've grown up with multiple dogs of different breeds my entire life and based on my experiences and what I've seen them do I would rely on them, especially ones specifically trained in things. We live in the woods and my littlest brother got out of the house when he was about 4 and our Rottweiler stayed with him the whole time and basically brought him home too. When we finally found them they were only about a minute away coming towards home.

I've hiked the Adirondacks. It is a MASSIVE wilderness area of state and private land. I can easily see how someone lost might not be found. Lots of boulders to get wedged in, leave the trail and literally for miles and miles there is nothing but forest and boulders. . Also been there when it's been raining and you can hear boulders come loose and tumble down the mountains. There would be no easy searching, particularly for a body and the ground is often covered with hobble brush....low growing vine like thing that easily trips you. Nope. Can't see anyone who leaves the trail being easily found, if at all. Lots of opportunities even on the trail to break your neck falling from one boulder to the next or rolling down one of the open granite domes. I have friends who hike alone as there is an elite group to hike all the peaks, some in the winter, alone. They always let people know where they are going and many trails have a book to sign at the trail head which is often in a parking lot. Wilderness areas are not to trifle with no matter how well you think you could handle it.

I agree!! When the dogs just plop down that I always yell, 'Did anyone look UP?' When you hear the stories about the young children, who vanish into thin air...... There is no way a child could get far enough away in even 5 minutes that they couldn't hear you, and you'd definitely hear them so what gives?? Either look up or they're walking, a portal opens, and poof. Otherwise they'd be crying or making so much noise - it really is pretty creepy!! Here in Arizona, hikes and leisurely strolls are pretty common, and we almost always cross paths with several people coming or going. It's definitely a head scratcher!! Those personal GPS beacons are becoming more and more popular so prices are beginning to go down, but I've decided my grandbabies are each getting one as well as my kids!! Peace of mind - priceless!!

12:00 Another reason why this young child’s story is so bizarre is that he survived, unequipped and inexperienced, when the grown men in the first two cases did not. Grown men that _were_ equipped and who _were_ experienced. Sure, you could say that all the situations were different but arguably the small child’s situation seemed the most harrowing to me. But, of course, I only have a general knowledge of the events, being on the outside looking in rarely gives you the full picture.
