People stop going to these places by yourself. If you’re with a group stop venturing out alone, be with a fellow traveler, friend or loved one. Her phone was found in the water. That in and of itself is ominous. And yet I hope she’s found alive.

I travelled there twice on my own and never had an issue. You don’t go walking on the beach at night and even during the day if no one else is on the beach. You can be followed and the resorts have security to protect you on their property. When alone, you don’t take taxis at night, some pretend to be drivers and are criminals robbing tourists. I only went out during the day and stayed a all-inclusive and did not go out at night. People should be allowed to go travelling on your own. I have for years and never ran into any problems, but I am always very very careful and no issues. It’s a sad world when people cannot go on vacation on your own. In one’s own city people practice safety measures and should do so on vacation.

@@darlenechandler2403 There really is a need to be concerned about being in some places in Nassau Bahamas right now, because also, they have such an illegal migration problem that they are trying to deal with. Even the local Bahamians there are worried, and upset at the government for letting it get so far. This is a country that at one time a study showed that seventy five percent of its crimes were not committed by the Bahamians, and now it's really out of hand, but let's pray she comes back safely.

there is nothing sketchy about this place, stayed there many many times. In fact it's one of the nicest places on earth. With the kindest staff and but the volunteers change.

We were all tightly knit together always checking that whete we went we woild do a head count. Never wonder alone!! Its too risky. Hope shes found and is well. Prayers for her safety

Have they searched her room, was she staying there overnight or walking back and forth from another hotel? Are her belongings still there, cards used, phone pinged.

As someone who has been there 4 times, everyone stays there. Many bungalows next to each other. Her phone was found in the ocean near by. My guess is she went for a night swim and drowned.

*"They weren't so happy we showed up asking questions about this ... people didn't even know ..."* 4:06 This reporting tells you *everything* you need to know. It is appropriate to surmise the very worst. The "Ashram" is concealing the truth, and failing to inform guests, about this missing person. Of course they are, because to speak the truth = reduced tourist money/currency. Further, when traveling outside the United States, you cannot trust *any* foreign government, including the island destinations surrounding the United States. Their officials will lie, conceal, and obfuscate. You will *never* be told the full truth about murder, brutal assaults, robbery, thievery, drugging, and all manner of crime. To speak the truth means less money for these governments and their populace. Trust no one. Assume the worst. Because when you assume the worst, you are very likely closest to the *truth.*

Whoa, this is a mystery, to say the least. This reminds me of a case I heard some years ago about a meditation retreat and a guy went missing. They found his body days later and determined the cause of death was due to dehydration, heat exposure, and lack of rest due to the strict regimen required for the participants. I hope this young lady’s story has a better outcome.✝️😯

Crazy this is you probably would’ve had the time of your life here. US State made us a level 2 for gang on gang crime/ violence but where’s the stats for violence against tourists? Barely any because we appreciate our tourists and if there is it’s probably some racists that don’t know The Bahamas is 90% black and they wanna fight

That’s what I’m wondering. Someone said they found her phone in the water - but not sure if that might be accurate. I hope she didn’t drown or get swept out to sea at night or in the morning.

@@MashaT22 yes they did find it. Also her sister did find my iPhone immediately and it was on the beach and the next day they found it there too. My guess is she drowned

This is so awful. My family and I docked at Nassau a few weeks ago. When we got off the boat to visit one of the beaches, the amount of people on the streets aggressively pressuring us to take a ride or buy tickets for something was completely overwhelming. My dad almost got into an argument with someone because they wouldn't get out of our faces. That was my first time there and guess what, I will not be back. This is crazy. I pray she didn't take a ride from someone or encounter someone insane..praying she's found safe. 🙏❤️

Same thing happens in other cities around the world that have an influx of tourists…, when I went to Times Square in New York , there were a lot of people trying to sell us city tours, souvenirs etc

I am truly sad about this situation but i cannot help but wonder why when this happens to a US citizen outside the US it makes national news on every station but when it happens in the US it doesn't make the local news?

I'm afraid something bad happened to her you have to be so careful anywhere especially in other countries traveling alone as a female especially doesn't mean we shouldn't go places alone because we should but gotta watch you're surroundings watch people be aware sometimes people are carefree thinking I'm good on a resort lots of people let their guards down no never I pray she's found safe and well😊

I just did agyoga retreat elsewhere but we were all tightly. Knit tigether all the. ctime. No windering alone at all. I hope she us found safe. Prayers for her...
