Mission First Tactical Minimalist stock and Para chord cobra weave

Big thumbs up! Well done. I do not know why you dont have 1000 thumbs up. The color you got is awesome. You should post your SOURCE, please! You can buy this already done by MFT with para cord. BUT..there is a lot to be said for DIY. It is NOT hard. If I can do it, you can too. I did this for my L shaped ACE stock. There are plenty of other tutorials on this. I played the video and did the job while I would pause the video when necessary. Worked like a charm The piece is FUNCTIONAL. In addition to having emergency cord, the added piece prevents your L shaped butt stock from snagging on almost everything!

I have one of those stocks and instantly found the "open L" shaped makes a snagging hazard, especially when transitioning shoulders with a single point sling. I'm definitely going to "close it off" with a weave like that

+Nameless Volto Yes, all L shaped stocks (like my ACE) seem to snag on everything and anything., The weave pretty much totally prevents snagging. PLUS it looks cool, plus you have emergency cord right on your gun. They make entire slings like this...kind of pricey. They are more for show than functional. This little strap on the other hand is VERY functional. And it is dirt cheap to DIY.

Did this, looked good, but took it off because it blocks access to the qd point. It is possible to weave it around it, but it's a pain to remove and reinstall.

Once you have got your base lines of parachord ran threw the holes on the front and back of the stock( the 2 chord on both side going from front to back) start at the back and do what I do threw out the video. Hope that helps.

+Monte Grayek Plenty other tutorials. This one is fine once you see how it is started. Do a search. I am hopeless at weaving. But I did an awesome Cobra weave sitting in front of my TV with a You Tube tutorial cued up.

“Cobra weave” = just square knots over and over

Can you still use the Qd sling mount with the para cord in place or does it interfer? been looking at these stocks but no one has commented on that

Yes you can still use the qd mount. Just make sure not to take the knot to low on the stock and you will be ok.
