Can tell they have no experience with inflatable boats too! In case you read this Anton! You row a boat with your back facing the diction you want to go. That way you can use your back to row and have more powerful strokes. Also bring your air pump with you. The air inside the boat with "shrink" because of the cold water and the plastic will stretch from your weight. Those two combined will "deflate" you boat so always bring the pump to top up!
@HENEWA
@HENEWA 3 жыл бұрын
I don't see problem here. Might be because in Finnish language we have different words for rowing forward and backward and I use both styles myself 😄 Of course you get more power when going backward but I think he wants to see where to go. Also might be his first time 🤔

15:45 They did not abandoned it because of the water. The water came later. When you dig a hole deep enough you will reach the groundwater level at some point. All these open-pit mines have many many many pumps surrounding the hole to keep the water away and pump it to a nearby (or not so nearby) river. When you switch the pumps off its just a matter of time until the groundwater will slowly fill the hole again. This can take a couple of months or up to hundreds of years until the groundwater level is fully recovered from the heavy pumping. When the mine for whatever reason is getting closed you usually remove the machines first before you switch off the pumps and leave it alone but here they switched off the pumps before removing the machines.

For anyone wondering: after a quarry has been used to its full extent (no longer profitable to dig there) often they have dug so deep that you hit underground springs or aquifers. Usually while active you pump out the water as in emerges but once abandoned lakes form. The water is extremely deep and extremely cold as is comes from deep underground, on top of this as you see in the video equipment remains and is often unstable. There are alot of deaths in quarry lakes due to these factors, however once safe they often become public lakes for use in tourism or biology.

“Good explanation” 😂😂😂 Shiey is my kinda dude, I prefer when he works alone. He seems like he gets the oneness of everything, the serenity of timelessness. Most people just see broken down junk but you gotta see the breadth and width of time that brought a place or a thing from the moment of its creation to the moment it began its long rest, this enormous lifespan happened before you ever laid eyes on it.

Shiey is a legend. I love his adventures. I love the moments in his journey when his experience eclipses his normal everday life stresses. When the freedom, or danger, or fear of being caught by workers brings him to a place of peace and appreciation for that journey, it is truly beautiful. His perspective on why he does what he does is fascinating, inspiring, and truly brings me peace. Even just watching his experiences brings me peace. His views on life are really fascinating. I know I am geeking out but Ive got to be real. Shiey is so genuine. That is a rare quality in a world full of people trying to fit in or act normal. Fuck that shit! If youre weird but have a lot of great laughs, hell yes! If your idea of freedom is different from societies, get it! I of course dont believe in causing unecessary pain or violence toward others, but beyond that. Be your genuine self, enjoy what brings you peace, fuck anyone else who tries to shame or stop you. Thats real.

@@callofghoul9835 I only went to college for two years. Every second was terrible. I was taught at a community college by teachers who didnt give a fuck about anything. It was minimum effort from the teachers with maximum demand for students. Once I finished, I got a piece of paper that said I finished. I found out very quickly, how little that two years of time, was actually worth. Not much. It was an IT degree too. It was all to hopefully find a meaningful career that actually made some money. So I guess I know the feeling of playing this sort of rigged financial game in life. Its a lot of bull shit at times.
