this is the first video that really dived into how MW arkiv system works, at least as far as I have encountered... I have other MV messenger bag, but your detailed explanation is really intriguing me. now I'm thinking about buying this system! thank for the great video!!

Thanks for the video! I've rocked a Mission Workshop messenger bag for nearly a decade. I love the brand and I love how overbuilt and incredibly strong their bags are. I have lusted over getting a fully-kitted Arkiv R6 for several years now. Right now, with the 20% off Black Friday sale, would probably be the best time. But my big issue? All the dang Velcro! Velcro is so damn loud and embarrassing to rip open in places like an office, library, coffee shops, airplanes, etc. I've heard many people with this same complaint, so I know it's not just me. I really would love to buy this bag, but I'm just stressed over the idea of having to find a local craftsman to sew over the Velcro and add magnets or something. I'm really not sure how exactly I'd have the bag modified, but I just can't deal with ripping loud Velcro all the time. Also, who knows how much it'd cost to have someone modify the bag, on top of the high cost to buy the thing in general. It's just a bummer because it is, in my mind, my "dream" bag that I'd love to use for-literally-ever, but yeah.

It’s complicated… in a good way! But I hear ya on the Velcro

Great video! I'd really like to see a review of the Black Ember Citadel which is IMO the best day pack out there right now

It’s certainly on the list, but it’ll have to wait until 2024 (unless they send me one 😜)

Thanks for useful and thorough content as always. As a proud San Franciscoan, I have tried to get into the MW products and their very unique Arkiv ecosystem but after watching this video, you confirmed exactly why I still only own two drift totes by the legendary MW and that’s only because I got them at about half the retail when Huckbery had a sale. It’s definitely a quality brand and a stand out in the world of carry, but two words that best describe my impressions of MW are overly complicated and definitely overpriced! And I say this with a smile after opening two boxes from Mystery Ranch today - you guessed it, it’s hard to be really excited about anything else when you just got two color ways of what I probably consider the best EDC/light travel pack ever made the Unicorn 2.0 aka Pegasus… I digress but talk about a similar purpose pack that seems to be from a different universe but I’m sure I’m not the only one who would rather have one unicorn than ten MW packs so great review and thank you for being objective because this confirms exactly what I don’t like about certain brands/ ecosystems without me ever having to shell out the big bucks to experience it first hand… I’m sure you got your unicorns or about to get them and it’s a no brainer next video for you to make and me silently enjoy 😉

When I moved to SF 10 years ago I bought one of these and kitted it out. I think it was around $600. It just didn't WORK. It's very inconvenient to get things in and out of it. Also all the attachments were just pouches. No organization or anything. I guess I just wanted more organization? Ended up selling it and began my journey to find the perfect bag. GWA Citadel is the perfect bag, btw.

I can see that. The Citadel is a good one too. But that just didn’t work for me personally

Nice, but it seems to be a bit low on your back. How does it feel without the sternum strap, I find them constricting. As ever, thanks for the outtake.

The sternum strap on mine is definitely short. So I had to play around with it a bit. With a longer one I would have worn it a little higher.

Great vid. I just picked up the Goruck Dyneema, I think it’s the best goruck ever made. Hopefully a review of this coming.

Hope you enjoy it! I I didn't pick up the latest version. Might have to for the differences.
