I grew up on that lake. I've caught boat loads of crappie and catfish out of there. It is a great lake for crappie, and anyone should be able to limit out on a morning of fishing.

As I got older I fell in love with spinning tackle and Senkos. Seemed to work when nothing else would. Had some really good days on Lake Monticello throwing Bass Assassins. They closed the best lake in Texas when they closed Monticello.

I've seen pictures from the 1930s and 1940s of gar that were 9 feet and longer that used to be caught in Wolf Lake. The old bait shop that used to be there 40 years ago had lots of pictures on the wall of the fish caught in Wolf Lake and the Yazoo River. They burned up in a fire along with the bait shop though.

Caught a 35 lb. Flathead throwing a grape metal flake power worm in a little slew behind Stewarts Creek Park on Lake Lewisville. Biggest fist I have ever caught.
