The US justice Department should be able to take the state to federal court and if sufficient evidence is shown that a person is innocent a new trial should be immediately ordered or release the person. An innocent person in prison serves no benefit to anyone. The murder victims family has not received justice and it’s a true disservice to the wrongfully accused. We appreciate you so much. Love, Chris and Kira People to contact: · Contact the Missouri ACLU and ask them to advocate on Chris’ behalf.- L. Chris was convicted based solely on the testimony of two younger boys, 12 and 14, who identified him as the shooter. . · No physical evidence was presented in court. Gun powder residue testing was not conducted. There was no DNA, video footage, cell signal, or any other physical evidence. Chris asked for a polygraph, but one was not provided. No motive was established. · Chris' public defender did not present any evidence in his defense, though he had seven alibi witnesses and had been on the phone at the time of the crime · The jury deliberated for 42 minutes before returning a guilty verdict, and Chris was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, plus 90 years. · The young boys, now men, have both recanted their testimony, explaining that they didn’t see who fired at them and hit their friend, but decided to say it was Chris because they didn’t like him. · Based on the recantations, and more witnesses and other newly discovered evidence of his innocence, Chris was granted an evidentiary hearing in 2018. · The hearing’s revelations included that the victim, his brother, and a couple of friends had severely beat a man the day before the crime. A couple of months later, the victim’s brother was also shot and killed. The possibility that both boys were killed in retaliation was never pursued. · 25th Circuit Judge Hickle deliberated for two years and three months after the hearing. In 2020, he issued an order stating that Chris had demonstrated his innocence with clear and convincing evidence, and NO JURY would convict him now - but the judge couldn’t release Chris because he wasn’t on death row. · The judge blamed the 2016 Lincoln v. Cassady case, which said that even if a person proves their innocence in court, they cannot go free unless they have a death sentence - or can prove a constitutional violation in addition to their innocence. · In 2006, Joe Amrine was freed from death row when he proved his innocence before the Missouri Supreme Court. The Amrine v. Roper case thus provided a path to freedom for people who prove their innocence. · In 2016, Rodney Lincoln brought his innocence case before the Western District Court of Appeals. Judge Cynthia L. Martin ruled that even though Rodney Lincoln had proved his innocence, he wasn’t on death row like Joe Amrine had been - so she didn’t have to release him. Judge Martin grossly misapplied the law. A proven innocent person should be freed regardless of their sentence! · Missouri is the ONLY state with this kind of law. · How is it that such a court precedent can exist in the United States of America, or anywhere? · This is insanity. How can innocence not matter? Does guilt matter? Do laws matter? · Two years have passed since the judge ruled Chris is innocent. Chris has had three heart attacks since the 2018 hearing, and his health has become fragile. · You may wish to mention that if people can concern themselves with Brittany Griner, why not Christopher Dunn, who is being held even after proving his innocence? Separately, you may wish to contact Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner and ask her to use RSMo 547.031 to move forward in vacating Chris’ conviction or ordering a new trial at caocommunications@stlcao.org or 1114 Market St #401, St. Louis, MO 63101 Much love and appreciation from us.

The Missouri State Legislature should get its act together and legislate a remedy to this problem. It is shameful that the legislators, governor, and state attorney general failed to solve this problem years ago. Though law can present very complicated issues, rigorous analysis can lead to legitimate and workable solutions. To the Missouri State Legislature, governor, and attorney general: "Stop failing at a moral and ethical level. Demonstrate some integrity. Innocent individuals, justified by substantial evidence, should not remain imprisoned. Solve this problem." To the imprisoned persons' attorneys: "Carefully research federal substantive and procedural due process cases. Missouri's prohibition against release, despite a factual basis for vacating a judgment, implicates due process protections. Perhaps a federal lawsuit seeking habeas relief, a declaratory judgment, or injunctive relief may provide some relief."

This is insane. The legal system in this country is an absolute joke. The system cares more about the illusion of being right, even when it's clearly wrong. I'm so sorry for these families.

A man killed 10 people in a grocery store in New York filmed himself doing it. A few men in Georgia killed a gun just jogging through there neighborhood and film them selves doing it. But a man sitting at home watching tv with his family didn’t kill no one is sentenced longer than those first men I named.

Stop snitching people All these people could have been free if one person who was going to go to jail just would have kept his mouth closed and not implicated somebody else who wasn't actually in the crime. If you're not man or woman enough to do your own time, don't do the crime!
