You're wrong. Our prison system offers everything and anything one needs to succeed after doing their time. That includes education, rehabilitation, counseling, spiritual development (should one choose that) and job training . some scumbags don't want to use it and just choose to keep committing crimes .how do you think he got access to books,computers, training and a free education. Open your eyes.

The sentence was excessive and he should of been out after 10 years. There are murderers out not. Life's rough in 1 sense and people get robbed when a youth has no sense of direction. So I'm elated by his release.

This case didn’t haunt her for 27 years it haunted her for the last 4. I agree that the sentence was f'd up, and that I wouldn't say it's a feel good story, either, but they both made mistakes at that point in their lives, and they're both making up for it. If she truly was the monster some people want to act like she is, she could've just not done the right thing in helping him get out. This is just a sad case all around, but unfortunately the best we have is better late than never. Either way, I also still find myself torn about her...

They seem to only briefly touch on the fact that he shot someone during the armed robbery while, luckily, was not injured as the bullet only grazed them. So it was not necessarily a harmless crime. He could have killed someone and fortunately that time he spent in prison helped him to realize what he had done and grown but had he been sentenced only lightly and fallen back into crime people would have been up in arms about “how could they have let him out when he has committed other heinous crimes!!??” It’s a catch 22. She was damned if she did and damned if she didn’t.

I know a bank robber that received 8 years. A murderer that did 13. 241 years is ridiculous. He was on a crime spree and needed time but 27 years is excessive.

I wish all prisoners could rehab themselves like this. Not an easy thing to do.
