Tip: the furry cuddle is best cut from the back with a craft knife with fresh blade. It gives far less furry dust and another advantage is that after sewing you have a way better possibility of covering the seam with the “border fur”.

I have made loads and loads of quilts but always hand stitched the binding. I never knew I could use a serpentine stitch instead of hand stitching which is a long, long job at times and very tedious. Thank you for these videos and the wonderful tips. I hadn't quilted for about ten years and you rekindled my love for this craft. Very kind regrards.

I am getting ready to sew with cuddle for the first time. I always have trouble judging the width of the seam allowance when I use my walking foot so I think that I am going to take the time to use my ruler and chalk marker and draw 1/2" seam allowance lines in from both cut edges of my strips to keep my seam allowances straight as I sew them onto the quilt top. Also I read on Shannon fabric website that using a Schmetz 90/14 stretch needle is helpful to prevent skipped stitches but I bet that since there is batting in there, any 90/14 or larger universal needle would work since there are so many layers to sew through.

I've made several baby blankets using that cuddle fabric, and while it is super soft and adorable, it's a PAIN to sew. Lots of pins and a walking foot are definitely key as I've found the fabric likes to slip and stretch as you sew it.

Would you be able to do a video all about working with cuddle fabric / minky / fleece not necessary make a quilt just hints tips and washing. How about using your glue stick instead of the glue spray to hold down those strips? I would also draw a line denoting the middle of quilt so you don't have to keep finding the middle of the strip on the quilt top. Also, I would denote on the batting the direction of the nap so you make sure the strips are going in the correct nap direction.

Sulky makes a more eco friendly spray that can be used indoors, but I find I still need to open windows. It also only sticks a day or two before dissipating, so use it right before you sew. Also for ~$22 you can get a mask respirator with replaceable filters, but I'd still open windows to air out the room.

What a wrestling job you did, whew, made me tired just watching you. Very cute quilt . Did you fold the binding in half or was it just turned to the back side?
