Even MORE than loving your quilts, I am loving your comment you made about reading the graphics on the pattern. I am so very challenged when it comes to reading a pattern. No one understands WHY I don't get it! As an instructor at a local College, I taught through a more visual/kinesthetic approach. One day I was handed a packet of info and I asked what it was. I was told it was to explain how to teach the different learning styled student. I was shocked that it took so long to figure out that not all of us learn from reading a book. I taught using visuals because that is how my own brain works. Being a kinesthetic, visual, and then auditory learner helped me to reach those who didn't understand the books. Book learners have their own advantage. I was so happy to see you admit, Jenny, that you are not a pattern reader. I should have guessed why I could not follow a pattern, if I am not a book learner, lol! Thank you so much for reinforcing the fact that we do not all learn in the same manner. I truly wish that they had understood that 60 years ago!

Dee I too get so lost trying to figure out written patterns I am a visual learner also but didn't realize that until I was 40 years old I just thought i was dumb all these years , would have made a huge difference in my schooling !

@@penny9157 Yes, Penny, they did us no favors. In my freshman year of high school, the nun told my mother I was a genius but I was lazy. I didn't have a lazy bone in my body! I bombed in the college courses until I hit my junior year. Empty words on pages did nothing for me. Secretarial was best for me. It was all hands on! I too learned these things in my 40's. One of my professor's in 1995 was teaching hypnotherapy and he showed us how to determine a persons learning style. I aced everything after that, when I returned to College. All those years of suffering and heartbreak and punishment and no one understood why, Penny, welcome to the land of geniuses and misfit toys! 8 )

I didn't know I had learning disabilities until I was answering questions for my two boys. When I was watching how they were training them is when I was able to learn. ADHD and dyslexia. Who knew. We were just considered the dumb kids who couldn't learn but if I SAW you do something,I could do it too.

❤ Jenny, Thank you for choosing the "Brightly" pattern frim Cluck Cluck Sew. It is adorable and easy enough for a beginner to feel confident in choosing to make it. While you were making this first quilt, all along I kept wondering about what the quilt would look like as a Christmas quilt. I was so happy that you anticipated your viewers' wish and made this into a Christmas quilt! It is so darling and I love the change you made by adding the Christmas pictures into the quilt star centers etc. Thank again, this quilt us already another new favourite of mine 🎉 ❤

I also made a fall and a Christmas quilt with this pattern. Have been thinking about making it in like Easter pastel colors with fussy cut centers. Super awesome Jenny. You just made my day. Thank you for showing others how easy this pattern is. Even a beginner can make this quilt. God bless

That 2 1/2" x 8" ruler is my favorite. I use it more than any other. Sometimes you just need a small ruler. The longer ones seem to get in the way when you are cutting something like 2 1/2" squares, which we all do a lot for our flippy corners etc. LOVE this ruler. It is a great one to buy for a new quilter.

I bought this pattern to make a quilt for a friend and she loved the pattern but was concerned that it would be fairly hard and a lot of sewing. I had a chuckle because she has no clue about sewing and I told her I could do it without any problems. Lol. And after seeing Jenny make and get sew excited about it I can’t wait to get started. I’ll even have my friend watch this so she can see what I’ll be doing. Thanks for choosing such an awesome pattern by an awesome designer. I saw the pumpkin version too and loved it! OK, Jenny: you’ve outdone yourself with this quilt. The colors are so you, and the chaining and the star. It looked so hard but I knew it couldn’t be because nothing you teach us really hard once you show us. And I knew there had to be too blocks but I just couldn’t see where one ended and the other began. I finally realized that the white rectangles on the outsides were what really fooled the eye. And i always love how you show the two different blocks up against the finished quilt because the I can really SEE how they’re different and how they meld I prefer to finger press the seams on each row of a 9 patch, out, in, out so the seams are really easy for me to match. I learned that from Donna Jordan.

I just had to add this to my SERIOUSLY quilt list! I see a lot of patterns I really like but wouldn't actually put in the time & effort to make, but this one made it to the list that still has less than 10 in it. I'm thinking no waste (4) geese instead of snowballing. The leftover triangles could easily be sewn before cutting apart to be used in a border or another project but they're pretty small. My brain is working out color combinations & more so that's why I knew this quilt was for serious consideration!

Good afternoon Jenny, Jenny flower, i am a leftie or corrifisted as it's called in Scotland, as well and things that make sense to my brain are totally different like you to everyone elses. I thought i loved the rainbow quilt, but the Christmas is just perfect as well. I have material to make my granddaughter a quilt(which will be my second i will have made) and i thought i had found the perfect pattern until you came on with this one. It will be just perfect for the material which is Peter Rabbit, which i think is good for boy or girl, i will be able to cut out his little ones with being a bit more precise ( i kinda went mad getting the material) as i will have more than enough to make it into her quilt and make wee pillowshams as well. Thank you for making sense to us lefties, crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil Village, Scotland
