The best part of the song in the movie is that the audience was led to believe that Rachel McAdams would sing another love song in that moment, but instead she sang a song that paid homage to the place where they came from and the people they knew. That made the scene more impactful and more emotional and rightfully so, since the contest was all about representing your country/hometown.

It is a silly movie, but it's also got an incredible amount of heart. I truly believe this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and I literally cry every time I hear it. And that's fine, I'm totally okay with my Husavik tears 💓
@ivymichelle8913 жыл бұрын
The major plot point of the movie is the songs that Fire Saga has been performing have been Lars' (Will Ferrell's) songs, and they are catchy, but yes, kinda cheesy. Husavik is Sigrit's (Rachel McAdam's) song, and no one has believed in her artistry until this big moment when her song is finally performed. The moment is a celebration of Husavik, Sigrit, Iceland, and the joy of someone with true talent finally being taken seriously. It is so emotional and such a wonderful place for a comedic movie to end up!

Being a 55 year old guy from Sweden, I reacted exactly the same as you did first time I saw it (I watched the movie) and then watched the same video you reacted to. Gosh it's so powerful and Molly's voice combined with Rachel's acting is amazing :-)

Björn Eidehall Molly was amazing, as was Eric Mjones singing Lion Of Love. Wow, Sweden should be so proud of these artists! Their voices and performances were perfection. Comedy is my favorite genre, so Lion of Love was a stand out for me from the Eurovision movie. I wish more videos would feature Eric’s fabulous baritone voice and Dan Steven’s inspired performance as Lemtov.

Strange sentence that considering Iceland is one of a handful of countries (including my own, Norway) that still has whaling fleets for hunting and killing for export to Japan, as early since as 2018 they where acused of killing blue whales, so they are not THAT gentle lol =) So the line should be "Where the whales should flee because of hunting people,from my hometown" but other than that awesome song and lyrics, one of the most beautiful countries on earth (again except from my country ofc Norway lol) =)
