It was very nice to see the herald baldr Tuk Tuk driver Aruna with whom herald baldr made 2 or 3 blogs with him showing that herald drove his Tuk Tuk and also invaded his house and also drank srilankan wine mixing with the king coconut in the Tuk Tuk. You can get the international driving licence from the AA office in Fort area it self or if you rent a tuk tuk through tuk tuk rental company they will do everything for you

Yea the business I got the scooter from could do it for me, but I wanted the adventure. Everything I read online said Werahera and I only found out about the one in the Fort area until I was already there. It's all good though, it just added to the fun

I’m a Sri Lankan and I’d like to say don’t trust any tuk tuk drivers. When you go somewhere select a tuck tuck with a meter or book “Pick me” or “ Uber” tuck tucks using mobile apps. This is the cheapest way. One more thing don’t give any money to beggars coz most of them are drug addicted people. If someone likes to work hard in Sri Lanka he or she has enough work in Sri Lanka. So only lazy people beg money. It’s easier than working in a work place

What I typically do is check the price on Uber, then flag one down and use the price I saw on there as a benchmark. If they’re wildly off on the price I don’t use them, simple as that really. I only had to use them for the first couple of days because since then I’ve had a bike, but I think it’s good advice in any country to be cautious of taxi drivers, Tuktuk drivers and peddle rickshaw drivers etc. I’ve been stung a bunch over the years with silly scams like ‘the price was per person not for the whole ride etc’, so I think for a new traveller using the apps isn’t a bad idea, but also then where’s the fun in not having the travel lessons occasionally 😊 As for the beggars, yea it’s 100% my own rule that I won’t give them money. I feel bad for some who have physical limitations, so it’s different depending on the situation, but for many I agree that they could be using their time more productively. There was a guy standing outside of a coffee shop I went to in Negombo…every day he was there without fail…standing in the heat all day begging each customer for money…to me that’s scandalous because if you’re fit and able enough to stand in the heat, you’re able to offer your services for any kind of job anywhere

It was 6000 Rs for the licence. The other costs such as Tuktuk, train etc were additional, although those would’ve been reduced had I gone to the office at Colombo fort

I usually have a look on the apps like Uber and PickMe to get an idea of the price and then I haggle from there. I always expect to pay a little more and that’s fine, but you’re right to be careful because it’s probably the easiest time to get confused with prices. Fortunately I was on a bike from the rest of the trip after this day 😊

I’m not sure what you’re trying to suggest? You say earn subscribers like it’s some enormous merit, as if it grants you an open cheque from KZbin. I make these videos because I enjoy it, not because I make money from them - in fact I make very little at all. This is my second time in Sri Lanka and this trip will be roughly 3 months in total (I’ve already been here for 6 weeks now) and I can absolutely clarify that I’ve spent a significant amount of money in this country, which I’ve done my utmost to spread to normal folks and families. You see in this video that I’ve put money in the pockets of 3 Tuktuk drivers, bought a rail ticket, bought a bud ticket, paid hundreds of dollars to a local business renting a scooter and then there’s the other things like buying food etc. I appreciate that things are difficult here for people right now and costs are high, but don’t be presumptuous to assume that you know what I’m spending here because as I say, it’s many many thousands over the course of my time here. Apologies if I’ve misunderstood your comment, but the sentiment I’m interpreting is totally off
