You do get the "1st home purchase" buy-price discount back if you abandon your first purchased house to go look for a new place to live. You have to log out of the game after abandoning the home and when you return, the change is recognized by the game software and then when you look to buy a house again the discount shows up on screen. :-) I did this last beta to test it out.

When it comes to ore grinding and you are fighting for ore it makes more sense to go for small ore. The reason is that the extra hit or 2 the player taking the bigger ore deposit is time taken away for him to hit that 3rd ore bit, you and him are racing for. You hit the small one less hits it takes giving you and extra seconds to start the 3rd ore bit. So now you can get the other small ore as well giving you more then then big ore deposit. Just a friendly tip love the videos I've learned alot of late game stuff from you. I focused or the crafting side of things during beta not story and late game.

Good video! They did remove the campfire thing though and hair really is not that big of a deal, but the rest was good info to have. I would say about the houses make your first in Bright wood as its in the middle of every thing and that can help for a lot of things in its own but also its in next to the LVL 60 zones and make it a lot cheaper to travel to them.

I spent like 20mins looking for vendors when I first started and then I realised that omg, this is actually fantasy EVE. As an EVE veteran of many, many years, I'm loving it. (although the PVP unflag is kind of sad tbh, it would be very exciting if you could die and lose all your stuff)

You can still do light roll with a shield on your back if your armor is all light armor. The shield is useful for stat boosts, so if you can stay under the 13 weight, it's a useful addition. Also, some of the medium armor has the same weight as light armor.

Only use shrines as a last resort. Always use your home. You can reset the cool down for really cheap. What could cost you 150 azoth at a shrine, may only cost 12 to reset your house cool down. First house should be big, but at least get two other strategically placed homes for the cheap respawn. Size of home only dictates how many chests you get and you can remove and upgrade homes later for storage needs. Get the homes as early as possible for jump points.

My testing showed something different, if you do not own any house anywhere you get the half off discount again. Did you own a second house in that video? I bought house, abandon it, and then got the discount again because I had no house. ( I realize this might have changed during the beta, but this was in the last day )

Very helpful video! Thanks for this. I have to say though I personally really kinda hope they remove that respawn button so you can't just kill yourself and warp around the map. I know, I know the running can become a bit much but I like the fact that traveling around can be a little tough and you may have to plan it out a bit with inns, your house/houses, and shrines. Seem like an exploit to me and kinda takes away from pvp encounters and just the overall size and feel of the world. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the great videos! Can't wait for launch! Subbed.

I have to argue against the shield one: I can still wear full light armour, have the dodge roll, with the shield. The shield I can craft to give me the desired attributes I need. I could instead equip a medium weight piece of gear (in some cases, heavy) and still be light, but I don't get any extra attributes from that

You do not get any benefits from a shield if you are not actively wielding it. I have heard the gem in the shield will still contribute but that is up for debate.

shields only affect your stats if they are active aka equipped with a sword. As far as weight class it depends on the weight of the shield as there are light, medium, and heavy shields (round, kite, and tower). And if you equip the medium weight chest with the rest light armor you are still light class but have significantly more physical and elemental damage absorption

The other two people who replied had given me their kind advice and shown me how wrong I was, in which I replied to acknowledge that they were right and I didn't do much research back then. I wasn't talking 'sh1t', and I'm not the problem; I didn't ignore anything, I just misinterpreted the information in the video, believing it was only equipment load as the reason you wouldn't equip a shield.

I like this video and have subscribed I have a couple of questions 1) I've tried to dye my armour but does that require money to buy from it? Marks of fortune? I've found no way to dye properly 2) How do you increase the size of your inventory? Haven't been able to find a way to do it. 3) I'm still learning a lot so this really helps!

Thanks for those tips. If I may add another one in regards to your armor, you were at 30 weight witch makes you heavy. If you use 1 medium armor, you can bring it down a bit to around 29.X to get the extra dmg boost and mobility only for a little less armor. It’s great for pvp

Nope, I personally tested that one during the beta. If you are not using sword/shield there is no reason to wear a shield, it only adds weight and repair cost.

Bow will give you the fastest passive movement speed. Hatchet also gives nice movement buffs and damage. Probably those 2

The house teleport alone is worth it. A free teleport every X hours isn't what makes it great ... it is the ability to reset this cool down at any time for only 10-40 Azoth (depending on time remaining). This will be your primary way to transport to this city. The coin upkeep is negligible as the only way you won't be able to afford it is if you don't actually play the game or have spending problems. Playing the game coin will be coming in from all directions. If taxes are too high people just won't use the city, we saw this in closed beta. It is counterproductive for city owners to maximize taxes.

It's a good question and I don't have an answer. I personally don't bother with the PvP faction quests currently since you gotta survive all the way back to town to even complete them and I usually get zerged down. It would make sense that the biggest reward quest should be used on the dailies though.

Concentrate on leveling one skill at at time, two at most. Too much, and you will constantly have storage weight issues. Don’t concentrate on mining, skinning, and harvesting. Just do it at every opportunity. If your inventory gets full, just drop it. Those get to 200 fast. “In town” skills you have to work for and take time .

Sort of. Campfires are now drown-proxies. Slap down a camp fire, then self-drown in a river to warp to a nearby settlement and if you aren't close enough the campfire prevents you from being teleported to the wrong settlement so you can try again upstream.

I would say that the town portal's from the houses really worth it when the territory already is owned, for Town Project grind, specially if you are a crafter. Of course it will depend of how many hours per week you are playing too.

@@AnputVT It has to have a slot to be equipped so it can be switched to when someone switches from their secondary. You also don't necessarily have to use the shield with the sword so you have the option to take off the shield for weight reduction. There is no benefit to using the shield if you are not using the sword. It only works on the sword because it's the only weapon you can have it equipped on. If your a tank and you are already in the heavy class it doesn't really matter if you don't use it but have it equipped. But if your trying to stay in light armor and you don't use the shield all it does is add extra weight for no benefit

If you take the shield off and put it back on you’ll notice you don’t get any buffs. Only when a sword is equipped do you get the buff, sorry guy
