Thanks for watching! Did any of these mistakes surprise you?!

I was surprised that you only let your kids have vegetables as snacks. It makes sense. I just don't think vegetables when I think of the word snack.I may start doing this in the future if not eating vegetables becomes a problem.

Yes! I allow them to eat other things for snacks, but this is my usual strategy when they ask right around dinner time and I don't want them filling up on something else. I figure if I'd give it to them with their dinner anyway, who cares if they eat it a little earlier - at least they're eating it! 🤷🏻♀️

@PocketfulofParenting Oh, I see. Yes, that is a good idea.

This is pretty much what I have been doing with my twins. I just give them the food and let them eat. I don't worry about how much of this or that. If they don't like something, I just cook it differently next time. The first time I gave them brocolli, they didn't like it. Next time, I cooked it longer and melted cheese on top. They ate all of that. I have been trying your suggestions concerning biting. Fortunately their has only been one instance of an attempted bite which I intercepted. I then deescalted the situation. Not sure if I did that exactly correctly, but Hurricane Helene tore through our neighborhood and the power will be out until the 5th at least. After 3 days of that, we were able to bug out to a hotel in Atlanta.

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing your example about not giving up. A lot of times we stress ourselves out thinking they're not eating enough of a certain food group, but they need wayyy less than we think. Great job for trying another way and not stressing. I'm so glad to hear you've been implementing the other tips for biting - sounds like you did an amazing job! 👏👏 I'm so sorry to hear that about the hurricane. I hope you're all safe and that you can get back to normal soon. 💗 Thank you again for being here.

@PocketfulofParenting We got off pretty light as far as hurricane damage goes. I had 6 trees in the backyard, and now I have 3. No trees fell on our house or cars. In the neighborhood, every 6th house had at least one tree fall on it. Every tenth car was smashed. My wife works in Atlanta, so it was just me and the twins until she got back Sunday in the late afternoon. The hurricane hit us at 2:30 AM Friday. I helped people in the neighborhood clear the roads on the first day. I have extensive baby proofing throughout the house. Otherwise, I wouldn't have left the twins alone. I came back every hour to check on them. We had the roads cleared by lunchtime. We had water the whole time. I have a gas range and water heater, so I had hot water! I might have left earlier, but my car had broken down very recently, and my utility van is a two-seater and not suitable for transporting young toddlers.
