Avoid saying YES to everything. Don’t be taken advantage of. Don’t let a customer tell you what you’re worth. If you don’t look after yourself, no one else will 🙅🏻♂️

Man I talked to a financial advisor years ago and he recommended me to use my mowers till they can't go no more unless I don't have no other choice to go and buy new ones and to get my money's worth out of them and let me tell you I've saved thousands of dollars cuz I use to go buy new equipment every two years and throwing my money away now I get 8 or 10 years out of my zero turn mowers but I maintain them very well I change the oil on them every 50 hours and I get over 5000 hours out of my zero turn mowers I used to think after 2000 hours a engine was almost shot wow was I wrong and all my echo equipment I get 8 to 10 years out of them aswell and they still run perfect I don't buy anymore stihl 4mix cuz we would have to buy new ones every 3 years cuz engines would burn up and they weren't lasting like echos in our company thanks for the advice man.

I agree. Take care of your equipment and it will last, and keep more profit in your pocket. I used my first Honda 21” mower for 10 years doing 80% of my mowing with in my business. Also I agree 2000 hours is nothing for a motor if well maintained. I bought a used exmark Viking walk behind a few years ago with over 2000 hours on it and it still ran great. Thanks for watching. 👍

I RECOMMEND THE TORO 30 PERSONAL PACE NON COMMERCIAL VERSION. It is a tank and affordable. I used mine on over 450 small yards last year with no problems. Good start up machine.

Excellent 👍 Since discovering your channel a few months ago, I've thoroughly enjoyed your videos, interviews and insights. 2020 is my first year. Still gathering equipment, license, insurance and such. I'll be late getting started in the season. But that's okay. Just paid my pickup truck off and working my way out of a 30-year City Freight career. I've been through 5 freight lines through company bankruptcies & mergers. Thanks to channels like yours that I discovered October 2019, When YRC merges with USF Holland - my employer, I'll not be looking for another truck driving job 😁 I appreciate you more than you know.

This is my 2nd year in business and I'm doing well but feels like I'm struggling in some way. I'm deaf myself so I assume I may not get able to learn from the community. I try to learn online but most sites I use are American. I been watching your videos. They do help but there's few answers I still need.

Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. Thats a tough situation to be in. I’m sure being deaf would make it much more difficult to try to learn from videos online. What answers do you still need?

I am just starting out so these tips were very helpful to me. One of my fears is over or under bidding projects, do you have any suggestions for me in that area. Thank you and thanks for another great video!

You will make mistakes. It inevitable. Just keep on top of knowing your numbers and what it actually costs to be in business. Over time you will start to hone in on pricing properly. Also do your due diligence and do some research. Ask around and find out what people you know pay for lawn care in your area to get a idea of a starting point.

Look at how much trimming you have to do - sidewalks, garden beds, rocks, trees, culverts, etc. These may take extra time, trimmer line, and wear out the trimmer faster. A lawn with nothing to trim may cost $30 but I may charge $45 for the same size lawn with all the above obstacles. Also, even if there is a lot less lawn to mow due to said obstacles, it will take longer to mow. You may also want to take a stick measurer and measure out several different sized lawns to adjust your eye to acreage. Don't forget to include driving time in your pricing. I add ten minutes for every property. Your expenses will most likely be higher than your taxes.
