Robert did such an excellent job and the PSX core was completed in record time. I was a PS1 person and I absolutely love what he’s done. Much better than playing on my real PS1 which I still have.

I like the dithering better on the comparison shown in your video 😊 but maybe 24-bit looks better than dithering on a CRT...

I know what you mean. It definitely depends on the game and personal preference. Banding can be distracting, but so can dithering in its own way. Nice to have the option though for sure 👍

I'm loving the PS1 core. My OG launch week Japanese Playstation and copy of Ridge Racer sits on the shelf above my MiSTer. Serves me as a constant reminder of how I once blew £700+ on a console then blew nearly £400 to play it again nearly 30 years later. No regrets.

Haha I get ya. Those years from 4th to 5th gen 93-96 were amazing. Vivid memories of playing PS1 for the first time first on imported Japanese in a. seedy back room of local game store, then on launch day with Wipeout and RR. AND Demo 1 👌

That was a lot of money back then, around 3 grand in today's value looking at house prices. I got lucky with a family member being in Japan a month later.

I’m only a few weeks into MiSTer ownership and am amazed at it….just wondering if I will have to tweak all the settings again after running the ‘update all’ script? Am keen to keep up to date with new cores and optimising the existing ones but don’t really wanna be having to set all the core preferences again each time - do they get reset when you update?
