Actually, he's more like a foster son, just like Orion is a foster son to Highfather, on New Genesis. In the story, "The Pact", it was revealed that the sons of the two leaders would be living on their enemy's planet, thus stopping hostilities, and, the ongoing, at the time, and, ever growing escalation of hostilities(these guys were destroying sums!)! When Scott Free escaped from Alokalios, Darkseid was free to hunt down the ultimate weapon, The Anti-life Equation the mental ability to completely dominate the mind of any sentient being who could even hear the voice of anyone possessing it! There were a few who possessed this ability, like Sonny Sumoand a Human business tycoon who seemed to possess it, but, Sonny's mind was too strong, so, Darkseid sent him back to feudal Japan, and, the tycoon was killed by an overzealous guard. It was bc always foretold that Father and Son would meet and fight, on Apokalips, and, one would die! I'm surprised I remember THAT much of The King's Fourth World Saga, which included The Forever People, and New God's, along with Mister Miracle, and, Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen! Their adventure ran in their own comics line, and, included a number of other DC heroes, including, Batman, Superman, and, Deadman, to name but a few!

Why stop there, an animated movie, or series of movies, about ALL the New Gods, and the struggles between the two world's, being fought on a third planet, Earth. I love the idea, and, it'd be similar, but, more extensive, showing ALL the big moments in the storyline.
