No see, what we needed was MORE like him. Bob Ross and Fred Rogers were two persons making a world more pleasant just by being generally nice, and we needed the ratio a little higher than what we've been getting.

I was born in 2005 and grew up with reruns of Mr Rogers. Mr Rogers' tree, castle, part of his living room set, trolley, some of his puppets, his shoes, and some of the clothes worn on his show are in the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I went there earlier and it was an amazing blast from the past seeing all of his stuff

For those curious, the primary instrument behind the song's beautiful, dreamy, soothing opening sequence from 0:00-0:18 is a celesta. It's played with a piano keyboard but has metal bars over wooden resonators instead of strings. It's actually the same instrument heard in the Nutcracker's Sugar Plum Fairy. It has to be one of the most beautiful sounding instruments ever, and yes, that was Johnny Costa playing a real celesta live in the studio as was the rest of the music

I'm a 28 year old woman and i still like this show! Mr Rogers was a wonderful man! I miss him so much! He was one celebrity i would have loved to meet but sadly never did. Between him and Steve irwin were the 2 celebrities i would have loved to meet. Rip to both of them!

I can honestly say that my heart warms hearing this song . Me and my brother watched most of the time . Brings back good memories . When childhood was about simply playing fun games and learning how to be thoughtful of others .

Just watched it again... and... still love it, but what grabbed me most this time.. is how simple and intro it is.. and the production quality. Not a huge budget, simple set.. and yet.. sooo many people loving this show for so many years. I met Fred.. briefly .. a few times. A genuinely amazing person

I never liked him, until I actually watch his show. I'm now a fan. I'm here to remember the song. I'm singing this song to my grandson as he's on his way to sleep. Mr. Rogers is very much missed.❤

As a kid I never actually liked this show and always wanted more Sesame Street time. As an adult, I absolutely love the show. Fred was an absolutely wonderful person who helped me deal with a lot of problems later on in my life. Thank you Mr. Rodgers for helping me become a better adult then I was teenager and for what you did to help kids and families to. I hope you and your wife are at peace currently.

This intro makes me imagine him in heaven talking about a dream he had while Bob Ross paints it. 🥹

We lived in south central LA until I was 10. This show always somehow transported me somewhere else. I felt cozy.

Nobody can outsmart Mr. Rogers. If you ever get in trouble, please come to this man and he will help you! Look, no matter what you do, no matter where you are, no matter who you’re with, don’t ever get discouraged by anyone and remember, we NEED to live in a society filled with peace, unity, love and soul! Not a world filled with chaos, pain, and fear!
