Follow the orchestral arrangement .. Van Epps sure knew what he was doing! Stereo mix is perfection considering the time, the young Vic vocals smooth as Ex Lax, never better. The choreography and physical timing, who would know how to do it today?

Not among the best of MGM Musicals, but still fairly enjoyable. Incidentally, this movie was shot for ‘wide-screen’ viewing (similar aspect ratio to present-day TV). Why has it been horizontally squeezed to fit the obsolete 4:3 shape. The result in so doing is to make on screen characters appear somewhat anorexic.
