Most other female singers can't do that bcuz their voices usually were built to project & support higher notes better. or they can, but in the expense of pushing down their larynx & creating tension.

Chloe Genevieve C3 is considered pretty low already for mezzos. By standard, C3 is an ideal low range for tenor.

Andreanata Noivan I knew it! lol. The altos made up names for ourselves since we have to switch with the tenors sometimes or support them in certain phrases. The alto 1s are the tenorettes and the alto 2s are the bassanos

@@leni3152 I lived close to Oberhausen and I remember how disappointed I was when Tanz der Vampire was replaced by Wicked in 2010. There was a little Willemijn mania among the musical fans I knew back then and like usual if someone or something is hyped like that I'm kinda anti. I thought she couldn't be that good, but I also had to give Wicked a chance. Willemijn got me the moment she started to sing The Wizard and I. I don't know how often I saw Wicked with her - stopped counting at 12 😂 I saw her in other musicals as well and I've been to concerts. Always perfection. She never disappointed. Not once. When it was announced she'd be Mrs. Danvers it was a dream come true - I really hoped she'd do it one day. Needless to say I booked a flight to Vienna already and I plan to go more than once this year. Can't miss this opportunity ^^

This has been answered, but that’s from the Thun, Switzerland production of Elisabeth back in 2006! Elisabeth is a really great show that I’d recommend to everyone! The costumes in the Thun production were a bit odd though… especially the one that Der Tod wears… Willemijn is great though!

She's a CVT-Vocalist. What you are referring to as screaming is the vocal mode called edge, which is a very chesty and powerful mode, where you sing in chest voice beyond your passagio where you would normally switch to head voice.

Well here I am commenting again! I sent this video to a friend of mine (because it is such a cool video) who studied musicology and understands music a lot better than I do (I cannot really read musical notation lol) and I would swear Willemijn sings the lowest notes at the harmony 'I do believe I have been changed for the better' at 2:19. But this friend pointed out that Glinda usually sings the lower notes in this harmony. (Although this performance doesn't sound like a normal performance). Can anyone help me out? Who is singing the lowest note here? And if it is Willemijn/Elphaba then why is it different than usual?
