It really sucks that you can't ask Johnny if AI Alt is really the best choice after you witnessed what happened to So Mi, especially if you visited Cynosure. We know she (mostly) keeps her word, but on my first playthrough I was seriously expecting the worst. After opening a backdoor to her and V thanking her for the help, I shuddered when she said "Are you sure about that?". Not all AIs are mass murdering devils, but they are all devils nonetheless. Dealing with them is never a good idea even if some are somewhat fair.

There's no ending where V achieves his dream and survives. V wants to be a legend, just like Jackie. And to do that, he needs to die, just like Jackie. The game builds up to the Temperance ending being the canon one - either that, or the Devil. Dex asks you a question at the start of the game; quiet life, or blaze of glory. In this ending, you choose the quiet life - in the Temperance ending, you die in a blaze of glory, saving a friend of yours.

How did V kill Johnny??? She just wants to live like any person would want. This was the safest and most reasonable way to survive. Are you saying you’d let someone like Johnny stay in your head?? Johnny did tons of bad things and to V, not everyone’s going to be so forgiving especially living with their literal abuser (yes Johnny is, let’s not forget their first meeting). V was right about Johnny and always will be. It was always too late for him to change (considering literally nobody could even see him).

@@net343It's interesting, in some ways it's less sad because Silverhand really did finally get one actual choom that could "stand to be in the same room", which really IS what makes it so heartbreaking- that choom ended up being the one who made the choices that got him killed. This one is just sad because he got another "chance", and it was all for nothing in the end. He never had anyone that he didn't push away, fight with. And he'll fade into history more and more with every passing year.

@@frigid_metal9545 I'm not sure what you mean. Johnny says to V that V's "conscience will catch up" to him in re: removing Johnny Silverhand. V is not the terrorist in this case, Johnny is. In terms of what Silverhand accomplished--it's the advancement of corporations, particularly Arasaka. He gave them very good reason to increase corporate security and control over Night City. I doubt Arasaka would be as focused on corporate defense without Silverhand.

@@PrismaticGeyserr The game encourages you to side with Johnny multiple times, despite Johnny being a despicable terrorist who killed hundreds of innocent people and put the world at risk by instilling a nuclear winter; not to mention the ramifications of giving Arasaka an excuse to further fuel its corporate military capability. Separately, he murdered Alt by pulling her cable out when she was jacked in. When Johnny comes back through V and forces V's hand to meet his former friends, all of them back up Johnny despite Johnny being a menace to them all 50 years ago. In this ending, V is in a coma for a life-changing surgery for two years. In those two years, all but two of his/her friends abandon V. I find this to be a huge stretch, almost like the writers of the game were trying to force you to side with Johnny. The entire Rogue/Kerry sidequest bothers me, also. There are no options in the game to preserve your consciousness, you can only choose to take the yellow pill and let Johnny wreak havoc, or you have the option of telling Johnny "I don't want to help you now [with Rogue or Kerry], let's do that later." The game is designed for you to side with Johnny, instead of carving a path out for V. Other parts that bothered me is throughout the game, you have little ability to tell Johnny off, or take the blue pill to prevent him from cutting into your consciousness. I feel that the game would have been better if Johnny was kept a side character. In the early demos, it was hinted that you could have picked one of three engrams--Silverhand, Blackhand, or Saburo--through the backstory system. Instead, that system was removed and the storyline was designed s.t. options that are approved by Johnny end in a positive note (storming Arasaka/siding with Cunningham, or staying with Panam) while ones that focus on V's safety (like the option ending in PL) are portrayed negatively.

@@JordanMills1932-ix5ix Sorry on reread I somehow seem to have misread the original comment, I thought they were saying johnny is a hypocrite since he himself had no problem killing countless people in pursuit of his goals, which is not true. Johnny does care about people, he was just so deluded that he thought that the people killed in the OP were worth the lives it would save in the long term, even if he was probably wrong (altho it did end the corpo war). Granted, this is only going off of what the game tells us, which according to the original books and adventure packs was significantly distorted by Johnny's narcissism, the old version of soulkiller used, the fact he had been ripped in half by Adam Smasher's shotgun and was bleeding out as he got soulkilled (which by the way was done by spider-murphy not arasaka), and the fact he was in mikoshi for 60 years likely resulting in him reliving his memories over and over distorting them further and arasaka messing with his head (how the hell he got to mikoshi is unknown though, since his engram should have been in the possession of spider-murphy and rouge iirc).
