Very educational and a big help to me. It’s the Dunnock that always surprises me. Such an amazing song from a fairly drab bird that hides so well! Infuriating when you’re trying to find out who is making the song! Last pic is of a Bullfinch, but I can’t identify the call.

This is great, thank you, trying to teach my children what sounds to listen out for. There’s a bird in our garden that makes a sound like a barber snipping hair with scissors. Snip, snip, snip-snip, snip, snip-snip. We’re in Gloucestershire. Any ideas?!

It’s best to do this quiz with your eyes closed because the bird images are quite obvious

It's quite interesting how so many types of songbird could easily replace the sound effects in a 1950's science fiction film.

what's the bird in the background at 3:56, doing a fairly slow single note?

@@emmamcdonnell4419 I am pretty sure it is the chiff chaff. Like a regular tick tock.

Thanks for this. There's 2 other birds I've noticed in the garden not featured here and I've no idea what breed they are. One is small, green and zips through the air quite quickly. The other is a lot bigger, looks like a bird of prey and has a whistling type call. Edit: I've since confirmed the later is in fact a red kite.
