i settled on a withering gaze and precision instrument, it seems like the roll that fits a “support dps” roll, for solo dungeon content or as a “roam play” type weapon perfectly, being able to apply weaken and not have to shift weapons for a 30% buff is nice; and I think this weapon will shine especially in nightfall or content with champions as you can use it to apply an easy weaken rebuff when there’s no artifact mod to do so in a season. ofc linears are far from meta, but i think withering gaze will especially shine once concussive reload goes away.

Despite the buggy mess. My biggest gripe with the Yawning is the ridiculous amounts of different mats required just to be able to focus the weapons. There’s no good single way to farm and get everything you need. Sit for an hour at shuro and get ingredients/spirit, sit for an hour at ST and get essence, then bake a shit ton of cookies only to HOPE you get the stupid boxes when you turn them in. Turned in 20 cookies to Ada this morning and she gave me two boxes back in all that. That’s a lot of grind for 2 weapon rolls.

Linears should be the dps meta. They require a lot more precision than any grenade or rocket launcher. Also Withering Gaze is probably better than most think. It has verb synergy sure, but it really helps out with the fact that Linears don't have good burst damage.

Aggressive (now adaptive burst) frames really only shined before they nerfed the crits. To those who don’t know, at launch (duality) and for a WHILE afterwards if you hit a critical on the first shot of the burst, the other two shots in said burst would be crits regardless of whether or not you stayed on the crit spot. It wasn’t game breaking, it just made these frames so much easier to use and more consistent because of the recoil. Now if you miss a crit it really impacts your damage, which matters because the damage already won’t be amazing since it’s a lfr to begin with.

My issue is that I have Cataclysmic, and that gun is the best linear by far. Fourth times the charm *doubles* your total damage. DOUBLES. And it has Goat and Switch for DPS. And it's solar, as a Warlock born to freeze and forced to well, it means cheaper reserves. Also it looks and sounds sick as fuck. To be fair, I'll probably go for a withering gaze + precision instrument roll for GMs.

Something to keep in mind, mag increase still reduces your reserves on Fusion & Linears. And for Withering Gaze, I think Frenzy is a better fit if you can maintain it since it lowers the time it takes to ADS.Edit: nevermind it doesn't matter at all pair it with whatever.

The FOMO is real. This event is great and all but like do they really expect people to be able to play it during this time of the year? I don’t know if it’s just me, but I am never available when this event is around, I don’t even think I have the fusion rifle or the other weapons in my collection cause I don’t play during the event with vacation, family, Christmas, new years. The travel just prevents me from ever being able to play in this event (and I am a d1 vet). Maybe someday they will extend the weeks available for this event cause I want to play and get the weapons… but have never been available to.

Cross is actually wrong u want liquid coils (+2 damage +40ms charge time) then a charge time masterwork to bring the fire rate back down to standard. Free 2% damage

If you can shoot for 10 seconds without reloading, your dps will be much higher than if you were rocking LQ. It’s true LQ gives you more impact damage but enhance battery with backup mag along with the viest stinger origin triat will leave you with more dps.

Depends. During an encounter that easily procs surrounded (e.g. Warlords Ruin final boss), Doomed Petitioner, Scintillation, and Briars Contempt will be better. For any other encounter, Mistral Lift will outperform and be better.
