This novel is very much a literary time capsule. L. M. Montgomery includes many details about common attitudes, concerns, routines and household details that were the normal experience for people living in Canada at the turn of the century, but this way of life was already long gone by the time she was writing this work after WW1, in the 30s.

Hi Lynda, I'm sorry for the long interruption. I accidently burnt my house and had to move a bunch of times and it was really hard to grab time and place to keep up the recordings. I've put up more now though. I hope you come back to hear the rest of the story.
