I got the book because I wanted to read this legend of a story by a legend of an author and I had this song on my mp3 player, when I got to the part where they sang. I put my headphones in, found this song on my list. and I sang and read the poem like a christmas carol.

Although not quite to my tastes it's a brilliant work of art. A clever remix whilst using the traditional lyrics of Tolkien. I'm sadly not overly keen on how to vocals have been presented. I know there will be some hater that will misconstrue what I have said as my being a bit of a bastard, but we all have our opinions, don't we? :)

Temerize China Would you be interested in a contract, cracking House Kundark Banks, the best on Ebberon, in legal, well-paying, athletic work? As a representative of House Kundark, The masters of banking, I can offer such contracts to exceptional thieves I meet on my travels, and Thuum is definitely enough to get you one of these contracts. We will be willing to pay for travel fees and immunizations, however there a few major clauses for your Heists. 1. You get paid a percent of your thefts in gold, based on performance. You don't get to keep the items in the safety deposit boxes you pilfer. Period. 2. No killing guards! Those guys have hefty life insurance policies as well as being difficult to recruit! 3. You are obligated to fully state any corrupt officials, equipment used, techniques, and advise in the advancement of security after heists. 4. house Kundark security is confidential. No giving items such as shematics, blueprints, and patrols to non-Kundark agents. So, interested?

I'm confused about one thing though... if Azog the Defiler, the Pale Orc himself led the Orcs on the hunt, why weren't there like thousands of Orcs at his back rather than some 30 or so?
@WeirdLittleBro10 жыл бұрын
I'm assuming he was holding back the bulk of his forces for the upcoming war. Also, Azog's role in the Hobbit is purely a Peter Jackson thing. In Tolkien's lore, Azog was killed by Thorin at the Battle of Azenulbizar outside the gates of Moria. Then Azog's son, Bolg, leads the orc forces at the Battle of Five Armies, but that's his only appearance too. So I can understand what Peter Jackson is going for by having Azog survive to be a key villain on a revenge mission. Though personally I think having Bolg perusing the Drarves to get revenge for his father's death would have made for an even stronger villain and be more in line with the Tolkien lore too. But I never expect movies to stick to books anyway so I don't let things like that ruin the fun ride. :)
@mitchelanhalt526110 жыл бұрын
***** For what the movies are worth. They are pretty close to the book.
@silkonahrik990310 жыл бұрын
Because a group of few dozens soldiers travel faster than thousands. In the movie you can see that the dwarves fled from Azog the most part of the time, so Azog needed speed more than other soldiers to caught the dwarves :)
@frekafastronjodalaigh74019 жыл бұрын
+Sil Konahrik and yet in a force of dwarves you find more strength, fearlessness, and pride than nearly any other force in the realm of middle earth. soldier to soldier, there are no stouter warriors in all of middle earth.

Among those good songs ever performed I think this is one of the best. I am Japanese so I don't understand deep in the spirits of your own culture with songs but I enjoy and feel the senses and essence of English songs. One question, in "Far over the misty mountains grim", I don't hear some familiar pronounce with "grim", or "dim" or "him". Do you pronounce them in an old way? Also I felt like very strong pronouncing with "u" in "strung","hung" and "sun"....

So far best cover I have found, though a bit too much reverb on the voices and the techno background doesn't help out either. Simple drums and bass would have been good for background and 0 reverb.
@bluegynger11 жыл бұрын
Well Peter Jackson uses partial lyrics from the originals, of course, but the original Tolkien lyrics are very long, and so he has to cut them (and often tweak them so they rhyme a little better some times). But as a long-time Tolkien fan, I've always felt that Jackson has always retained the integrity of Tolkien's original songs and Howard Shore has always done them immense justice. Also, it's actually Shore who typically edits the original lyrics, not Jackson himself.
