This particular video was made 9 yrs. ago and its sad that Misty left this lifestyle, but she had it hard.I remember watching her channel when she first started and she did everything around the farm and the only ones helping her were her kids.I never saw her husband lift a finger. She had a huge garden that she and her kids worked themselves and she would butcher and prepare all the meats and she even had a stove outdoors that she cooked on rain or shine. She had a hard life,so don't blame her for leaving.I hope her kids forgive her if she left them behind, but enough is enough when you are the only one pulling the load. Good for you Misty,I hope you are very happy now, but miss your videos.

Growing up as a young boy my grandmother cooked this way, she love cooking on her wood stove, I remember being the one milk the ole Jersey milk cow, shaking the jar for butter and adding the salt to it. She always saved the bacon grease to cook with. My grandmother was born 1907 would know about this style of cooking.

I learned to cook on and in wood stove when I lived in Maine. Its so great to master using this . My stove was a old one with a firebox and water chamber. It was the heart if the house. Heat and food preparation, the dishes kept warm in the top section for hot meals. The sound of wood crackling is so soothing .

I remember my grandma cooked on a wood stove and I cooked on it too when the guys in our family would go hunting and I would go with them and do the cooking for them. Food just tastes so much better when cooked on a wood stove. God bless you Misty.

This is what I call real cooking !!!! I wish I had this kitchen with all the kitchen tools and equipments. And the oven, the wonderful woodburner ! I always have dreamt about a kitchen like yours. I strongly believe I have been born in the wrong century or had to live in a community like yours. I still do my own bread , cakes , sauces etc. Bottle whatever is possible, we live in a big city. Going through nature we love to collect fruits which I turn into jams. I hardly buy anything already made and than warm it up. I don't have a microwave. My main food is freshly cooked. Even when I was working full-time, I cooked fresh. To you it sounds normal, never wasting food, using up food, creating something nice from leftovers. Collecting fat from belly pork and use for frying pots etc.. This is something my mother taught me and I stick to it. We have to treasure and respect our food. I wish many people will watch your channel and follow it . And if it is only a few people who are changing their habits, than you have done a great thing. Thank you. Surely I can learn a lot how you cook. And there are a few things I love to try. Again thank.

Ms. Misty, I often cook roast, carrots, onions, and potatoes. Now I no longer live in the country but when I can find nice green beans, I snap and put them in the bottom of my pan, place my roast on top of them and then the other stuff around them. In the winter I use frozen green beans. But they are wonderful cooked with the roast.
