Although I do not agree with some of the rules of the omish, some are good. I love this cooking show. Also I'll bet the food must taste better than ours , due to real freshness of the ingredients. If I could cook like MIsty I would.

My first night watching your cooking videos. You have a wide variety of talents!!I really enjoy your videos.I have four children, so I can appreciate any thing homemade that saves my husband and I money. I also stay at home with my kids.I and my youngest daughter also wear modest clothing. Long skirts or dresses only.I have a problem getting my oldest 12 now to do the same. We just started this 2 years ago...any advice on helping her want to change without a HUGE battle? Admire you a lot. Rachel

I think I have that cookbook. I bought it at a sorghum mill in Lobelville. My mother and I go to our family reunion every September in Camden and on the way home to the Smokies we go and buy molasses from some Amish folk. I think it is on Russel Creek. Wonder if you got your sorghum you used for your cough medicine. God Bless

Been noticing latley that "Lard" is the new four letter curse word amongst those that utilize vegetable shorting in a can. Lard makes a great pie crust and frys-up a great chicken too. Picked up a lbs of lard at market, at register someone made a negative comment about it. My reply was: Put on a skillet, put on a pan, mama's gonna make some shorten-bread, in musical satire.

Looks fabulous! Do you have any tips to get rust out of cast iron? I have a few old cast iron skillets passed down to me that have not been used in years and have a very small amount of rust in the corners. Thanks and I love your videos :)

wipe the rust with grease and heat it up for about 5 minutes let it cool, wipe with a clean paper towel, repeat until rust is all gone may take 2-3 times
