Although I've been a fan Of Mr. Getz for over 40 years, there are still treasures that I haven't heard. How I ever missed this one is a mystery, but Mssrs. Getz and Brookmyer gave us a rendition that compares to anyone's. Beautiful!

i'm guessing that the vibist is gary burton...when gary formed his first quartet in '67, one of the highlights of the show was when he sent the other 3 musicians off-stage, and, with the spotlight on him, did a 12-minute solo of 'misty' which was absolutely mind-boggling...I saw him do it in april '67 in Austin, tx...3 weeks later, I caught him at a club in san Francisco and asked him to repeat the solo...graciously, he complied and the applause brought the house down...

I do know that it's together with Bob Brookmyer (trombone) Herbie Hancock (piano) Ron Carter (bass) Elvin Jones (percussion) and Gary Burton (vibraphone) I also think Stan Getz plays a couple of tracks from it on alto sax. @vyzel Yup. There must be tons of versions since Jazz folk didnt really attach themselves to labels but to music instead. So there are a lot of good jams of the same around. I happened to find this from someone who got it from some torrent and i posted it up here and at the time there was no Stan Getz Misty anywhere. I'm just glad to have people listen to the music. I however dont appreciate a lecture, which happened over the above mentioned comments. Tough noogies i isuppose.
