Gracias, muchas gracias Peter. Tu descripción de los músicos es muy valorable. Semejantes solistas no pueden estar secundados por algunos más. Los que lo hacen son todos de primera. Nuevamente gracias.

This is a superb performance by an all-star group of first class musicians. We should also all give a big salute to Mr. Erroll Garner, the composer of this soothing melody. Thank you for sharing.

Although I've been a fan Of Mr. Getz for over 40 years, there are still treasures that I haven't heard. How I ever missed this one is a mystery, but Mssrs. Getz and Brookmyer gave us a rendition that compares to anyone's. Beautiful!

i'm guessing that the vibist is gary burton...when gary formed his first quartet in '67, one of the highlights of the show was when he sent the other 3 musicians off-stage, and, with the spotlight on him, did a 12-minute solo of 'misty' which was absolutely mind-boggling...I saw him do it in april '67 in Austin, tx...3 weeks later, I caught him at a club in san Francisco and asked him to repeat the solo...graciously, he complied and the applause brought the house down...

Apparently, this song was only recorded once. It appears on the album Bob Brookmeyer and friends with the title "Misty". Like catandpiddle said, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Elvin Jones and Gary Burton appear on the album also. My only problem is I cannot seem to find this album for sale, not where I live.

I'm also searching for this and the title seems to be unknown. I do know that it's together with Bob Brookmyer (trombone) Herbie Hancock (piano) Ron Carter (bass) Elvin Jones (percussion) and Gary Burton (vibraphone) I also think Stan Getz plays a couple of tracks from it on alto sax. Very unusual...

@vyzel Yup. There must be tons of versions since Jazz folk didnt really attach themselves to labels but to music instead. So there are a lot of good jams of the same around. I happened to find this from someone who got it from some torrent and i posted it up here and at the time there was no Stan Getz Misty anywhere. I'm just glad to have people listen to the music. I however dont appreciate a lecture, which happened over the above mentioned comments. Tough noogies i isuppose.
