Misunderstood is a powerful but cute queer short film that explores a lovers heartfelt journey to be seen as more than just 'special friends' in the eyes of an immigrant father.
Created by Diana Caicedo & Kasey Medeiros, the film highlights the importance of queer and bisexual representation in media shedding light on the often-overlooked experiences within the LGBTQIA community.

Wonderful short! So well done. Waiting to see the father’s reaction had me on the edge of my seat, but hearing the sweet, poignant message from the mom on the other side, defined the meaning of love. True, unconditional love. 🌈

Oh wow this was a beautiful film great actors and actresses!! I love this so much love is love it doesn't matter the gender, it is two hearts coming together! I am lesbian and I am going through a divorce I hope one day I can find this love again of course I'm only attracted to women 😂 these two were cute I almost cried at the end of this so happy to see that kind of love❤ 🌈

My daughter needed to be picked up from her abusive bio-dad. I hadn't see her for three years when her mother called and asked for my help picking my 15 year old up from a counselors safe office an hour away. She was taller, dressed in mostly black and was a foot taller. Once we were on our way to a mutual transfer location to meet her mother I bought us lunch. While we were eating and catching up she calmly stated that she was bisexual. I was not phased and told her I loved her for who she is and forever in the future no matter what. She is 34 now and doing great in Central America.

I hate how they can't resist Heteronormativity in even short films. There's always some guy and a mandatory hetero kiss. Like if it's wlw specific it doesn't have to necessarily involve that as it's everywhere. I usually avoid bi content for same reason but it's also almost always there in lesbian ones too. For better safety I think I'd just avoid bi ones. Also there's no warnings for it. I get triggered so I wish there could be writings warning about hetero proximity.
