Dr. Shabir Ally introduces a new series called "Misunderstood Quranic Verses," prompted by a viewer request to address commonly misunderstood Quranic verses. Dr. Shabir explains that while commentaries on the Quran are vast and varied, certain verses are often interpreted incorrectly, both by Muslims and non-Muslims. These misunderstandings, particularly around topics like peace and violence, can stem from deep-rooted classical interpretations that may not align with contemporary understandings. Dr. Shabir emphasizes the need to re-examine these verses using modern perspectives while maintaining respect for classical scholars. He points out that scholars of the past worked within their historical and cultural contexts, which influenced their interpretations. Modern readers, with advanced tools and broader perspectives, must critically analyze these interpretations, recognizing the human element in past commentaries. The series aims to correct these misconceptions by providing revised interpretations that resonate with contemporary understandings while remaining faithful to the Quran's message. Stay tuned for part 2!

Religion founded by a prophet who married his adopted sons wife For a very silly reason Allah wanted to tell the world that adopted sons are not your real sons , for that reason it’s halal to marry your adopted sons wife Do you really think that’s not messed up Can’t Allah just command that , why the prophet has to actually marry his adopted sons wife This is wrong look at it from any direction

Greetings to you all for this wonderful, tedious, yet enjoyble task. Dr. Shabir Ally certainly is one of the most knowledgable scholar not only in RELIGION, but also in other fields. Thanks God for that and this. I would like to suggest for you all to make a series on sport statistics in Canada. If for any match each person donates one dollar how much it will be acumulated for rooting out poverty in that particular town. Please remember there are Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Universities, Professional Matches in Soccer, Basetball, Hocky, Trach and Fields, Swimmings, Wrestlings, Boxings just to name a few. I believe most people who attend these Games willingly will donate a dollar if and only if they would be assured it will reach the poor or the homeless. DR. Ally can, will, and able to do this all over Canada mabe other countries as well in my humble opinion. Salve of ALLAH, Jahangeer John Kholdi. Best regards.

I think that is a good topic and would be very informative for us all. However, considering the targetted audience of this channel, such a technical issue may be boring, mundane and even mentally confusing for the many non-muslims who are interested about Islam, because such 'technicalities' are sometimes trivial to such people who want to understand firstly what Islam is about. Remember the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, when he sent out messangers to different lands, he informed them to inform the people of those foreign lands of the 1) existance of God 2) what/who God is 3) how to revere/worship God, with the technicalities coming in later, as with everything the 'foundational understanding' of God conciousness and Tawheed/Monotheism is the key, even for people who are muslim and practice Islam and try to do so with all the 'technicalities' but are faulty on the foundational understanding of Islam. Anyways, just my thinking, I could be wrong in thinking like this, but considering that there are still 6 billion people who don't know Islam correctly, It may be better some channels be busy with that, we can always learn about the 'technical' details thru our local mosques inshallah. Salams to everyone. : )
@KenanTurkiye
@KenanTurkiye 2 ай бұрын
That way we can also be more active with our local mosque and community. So it's a win-win, on one side nonmuslims get to learn more about Islam thru this channel and the like, and those of us who are muslim get to strengthen our local muslim community. Just thinking aloud, I may be wrong, so please excuse me if my thinking isn't the best. :)

How do misleading books of Tafsir work? Mr. X said: Sun rises from the North; Mr. B said: rises from the South, Mr. C said, rises of the East, Mr. D said: rises from the West but Mr. E said: rises from the North, Mr. F said: it rises from the North, Mr. G also said that it rises from the North. Therefore Majority's (6:116) opinion is: that Sun rises from the North. *So, this is Ijmah Ummah* Books of Gossip *Majority is not a benchmark of being right* (Quran 6:116)

To understand the Quran, one must read in it's native language without translation or commentaries. One must learn Arabic grammar and read and understand the Quran directly. If a misunderstanding comes up in a verse read start of paragraph again and understand context of it. If misunderstanding still continues carry on reading other verses with help of Allah misunderstandings will clear one by one. Understand the Quran as illiterate Arabs and Bediouns understood. Scholars understand the Quran through Hadith and commentary that's why Original and pure Deen of Islam has been lost. Original and pure Deen of Islam which was bought by Allah's Last Messenger Muhammad ( peace be upon him) is only preserved in the Holy Quran. Need to be recognised, implemented, and conveyed to rest of mankind in best possible way. Without it we cannot take one step towards salvation. May Allah give us guidance. Ameen.

We have read almost all Tafseers. Those misleading books are books of gossip and hocus pocus. *Important point:* if self-explanatory Infallible Quran of Infallible God was in need of a fallible Tafsir of fallible men; then Prophet and alt least 4 caliphs were supposed to leave behind such extra-Quranic Tafsir of Quran along with Quan; but did they? No.

Because a person who has already built some unsound beliefs in this brain for 1200 years, cannot do justice with this kind of topic. People like us can do justice with this kind of topic because we have not built already any unsound belief in our brain which is based on extra-Quranic books. Allah Said in The Qur'an : "Allah has created every [living] creature from water. And of them are those that move on their bellies, and of them are those that walk on two legs, and of them are those that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent." ( An-Noor chapter 24 : 45 ) David wood mocked The Qur'an by mentioning a question ," Since The Qur'an stated that living creatures are created from water. Are Angels created from water ?" Obviously, he missed biology class at school . There are at least 7 characteristics of living creatures according to biologists : 1. Movement. 2. Reproduction. 3. Sensitivity. 4. Growth. 5. Respiration. 6. Excretion. 7. Nutrition. Angels ( الملائكة ) can move and have sensitivity in certain sense for instant they feel angry. Remember when Angel Gabriel ( Jibril ) got angry when people of Thaif threw stones and dirt to Prophet Muhammad PBUH ! Yet they can't make any reproduction . They can't grow . They don't need any respiration. They don't do excretion and they don't need any nutrition either . So, even though Angels live but they aren't included the living creatures as Allah meant in the verse .

The only way to prove whether Islam is the only truth is finding a contradiction in The Qur'an . Yet, the more they try to look for the contradiction in The Qur'an, the more they find the truth. Here is just an example : One of the things that is often considered a contradiction in the Qur'an by unbelievers is Surah As-Sajdah chapter 32 verse 5, Al-Hajj chapter 22 verse 47, & Al-Ma'arij chapter 70 verse 4. Surah As-Sajdah verse 5 & Al-Hajj verse 47 stated that 1 day in Allah's calculation equals to 1000 years in human terms, but in Al-Ma'arij verse 4, it is stated that 1 day equals to 50,000 years. At first glance it seems contradictory. REALLY ? ~ As-Sajdah: 5 & Al-Hajj: 47 stated that 1 day equals to 1000 years in human terms, but in Al-Ma'arij: 4 it is stated that 1 day equals to 50,000 years without any words in human count. So it is clear that there are different calculation references so that they produce different calculations. Remember Einstein's theory of relativity? The result of Einstein's second postulate of special relativity is that time is not absolute but relative. Time can undergo expansion or time dilation. The time interval measured by a moving observer is always longer than an observer who is standstill, even if an object travels the same distance. Time dilation is proven by experiments conducted by B. Rossi & D.B. Hall in 1941, D.H. Frisch & J.H. Smith 1963, J.C. Hafele & R.E. Keating in 1971. Since 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad SAW has delivered verses about time dilation. A Long time before Einstein, Newton, etc were born. A Long time before there is Google Search, A long time before NASA was founded, Prophet Muhammad SAW had known about it even though he was illiterate. Do you still doubt that Prophet Muhammad was really receiving revelations from Allah, The All-Knowing? ~ Facts show that 1 sideric month is different from 1 synodic month. A synodic month is the time for the moon from one full moon to another. The length is 29.33 days. 1 sideric month is the time for the moon to rotate to reach its original place. The duration is 27.33 days. Keep it mind ! The moon rotates around the earth can produce 2 different time periods because there are differences in the reference. ~ In different places in the universe can produce different times: 1 day on Mercury = 59 Earth days 1 day on Venus = 243 Earth days 1 day on Mars = 24.37 hours on Earth 1 day on Jupiter = 9.5 hours on earth 1 day on Saturn = 10.14 hours on earth 1 day on Uranus = 10.49 hours on earth 1 day on Neptune = 15.48 hours on earth If you're doubt, please prove it with the formula of The Kepler's Third Law! What is extraordinary about these verses is that it takes Einstein's level of thought to understand them. No wonder if the apostates & disbelievers especially christians fail to understand. Isn't it for them 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 ???

Today, the only people's who truly know Quranic Arabic AND speak it, are the Bedouin Arabs! The Quran Itself states that it is written in a CLEAR ARABY MUBEEN, but as Dr Ally will show us, the interpreter's of the Quran have given us some erroneous translations and ideas have crept into our Deen, that the Quran does not ordain or state! Dr Ally, please tread very carefully or else you may stir up a hornet's nest! We know that Sunni Muslims adhere to things that they Quran does not linguistically mean, yet they take a completely strange meaning. I admire your waybof thinking, you seem to be very different to the vast majority of so called scholars that are prevalent on KZbin! They portray what I call NUMBER 2 ISLAM! Some pointers for topics: Does the Quran truly state that Adam was the FIRST HUMAN BEING? Is it correct to translate Malaikh/ Malaikha, as Angels? A Christian notion. Does the Quranic term Sajda/ Sujood litterally mean prostrate? ( If yes then how do the Sun, the Moon, the Stars and the trees prostrate). Does the term Salat mean prayer? Isn't the Arabic word for prayer " Duaa"? Does Aqeemu-salat mean " Establish prayer."? Were not the people already praying since the time of Abraham? Does it mean, instead, ESTABLISH THE DIVINE SYSTEM OF LIFE? Does the term ZAKAT refer to us, individuals giving money to charity or is Zakat THE ECONOMIC SYSTEM OF THE QURAN, the assistance that the Islamic Government would give out to vulnerable people? Where do we get the notion of 2.5% yearly tax?? This percentage is laughable. If a country had to run everything on only 2.5% tax, the country would be bankrupt!!! The Quran tells us to give whatever is surplus to our needs!! Are Jinn according to Quran really some kind of fiery creature that can appear and disappear OR have we been influenced by the Tales of The Arabian Nights!! and by mullahs? How can one recognise allegorical/ Symbolic = Muttashabiat verses from Factual verses? What is the criteria or rules we should adopt? ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Unfortunately, you continue to misunderstand the most basic tenets of Islam...one of which is the profound and individual relationship between the individual and their submission to the Will of Allah. The Quran is guidance regarding the lifestyle of that submission and each individual is mandated by Allah to workout their understanding as it is given into their ability to do ("...as much as is easy for you....). Regarding difficulty, the individual is invited to seek out one another and confer. The final determination of Allah is promised to be made on what is held in the heart of the individual. This really isn't rocket science, nor is it an undertaking for the weak of heart. FWIW.

The meaning of verses is often given by the 'circumstances of revelation'. Various verses were revealed according to certain specific situations in early Islam. The information is all there for those that want to study it. It's a big topic though. But this is an important verse as well: *It is He who sent down upon thee the Book, wherein are verses clear that are the Essence of the Book, and others ambiguous. As for those in whose hearts is swerving, they follow the ambiguous part, desiring dissension, and desiring its interpretation; and none knows its interpretation, save only God. And those firmly rooted in knowledge say, 'We believe in it; all is from our Lord'; yet none remembers, but men possessed of minds.* Qur'an 3:7
