great review - Ive been running a E-07 + Dakar on my T7 rear and think Im going to mount the E10 Dakar on the front. In Colorado and the only pavement I do is to the trail. Ive had the E07 + Dakar in Moab, Colorado and Big Bend and love the tire. I also ride with a Mitas rep and get a good deal on Mitas tires...
@manybikes3 жыл бұрын
Sounds great! I really really like the E10 tires. The E07+ Dakar is a great tire but not "aggressive enough" for what I like to do. The E10 was the $$$. Good thing you have a Mitas rep, they are kind of hard to find here in the USA.

I just installed a E10 on my 1200GS, looks like I’ll only get 4,000 miles at the most out of it. I go to the Arctic every year and need a tire that can make the round trip of 5,000 miles. Been using the E07s which are great but could use more off road traction. Maybe the E09s?
@manybikes3 жыл бұрын
I have not yet run the E09's... I am curious to hear what you think.
@BlackdogADV3 жыл бұрын
Someone suggested running a E10 front and E07 rear, was that you? I’m mostly concerned about front traction as that’s the biggest issue on the Dempster.
@manybikes3 жыл бұрын
@@BlackdogADV That is actually a really good idea. Some people LOVE the E07 and it works really really well for them. If it were me... I'd run the Motoz GPS tire in the rear as it has taken me 12k miles on 2 different bikes and it hooks up really well in all conditions.

I think the E09 is going to be similar to a E10 but little longer life with firmer compound. I just replace an E09 rear on my DR650 at 3000 miles. Solid tire but 'side bite' a little lacking off road due to bigger blocks....that said very solid leaned down on the street.

@KyleBradshaw what's your take on the Motoz Tractionator Rallz front and back for the Africa Twin Adventure Sports? Would you use a different front tire? Thanks!
@manybikes3 жыл бұрын
The RallZ is my current favorite tire and I have them on two of my machines. If doing A Lot of street... I would suggest the Dunlop TrailMax Mission up front and the RallZ in the rear. If doing lots of off-road, stick with the RallZ all the way around. My 2 cents.

These look great. I have the E-07+ on my new 890R. They feel really good (better than I expected) in most conditions ranging from the street to hard pack dirt. I rode some sand today and wow, major pucker factor. The bike has felt fine in all other conditions but seemed like it was going to throw me on the ground at multiple points in the sand. (This is a familiar riding area and my main other point of comparison is my 300 XC, and I railed this area on that in 4-5th gear on the pipe - I wasn't sketched out by the terrain, it was what the bike was doing which, honestly, felt dangerous). Are these E-10s better in those conditions? Are any tires actually good in deep sand for these big bikes???
@manybikes Жыл бұрын
I totally feel you!!! The E10 is much more planted feeling. I really like the Motoz Rallz for the deep sand.

So now the question is, how long will they last? 8k like the TrailMax or 3k like the AX41. I’m thinking closer to the AX41
@cyclopathic9984 жыл бұрын
If you wanna get some miles out of them get E-10 Dakar front and E-07 (non-plus) Dakar rear that combo will outlast TrailMax. You will loose some hookup but E07 rear hooks better and lasts longer than MotoZ GPS.. and mismatch seems to cure sidewinder somewhat. 1190/1290 are known for chewing tires people wear AX41 fronts in less than 1500mi. Kyle is more gentle on tires still his mileage wouldn't be a good indicator if you are on lighter bike

@@cyclopathic998 Yeah I’m on a 790 R and trying to decide the next set of tires. Good info thanks
@cyclopathic9984 жыл бұрын
@@mikesbigadventures194 just beware that Dakars really stiff stiffer than K60 and even MotoZ, so changing tubes at trailside would be a difficult proposition especially if you don't have good irons. They also like lower pressure but that is a different story. For the which set to decide on depends on what conditions you are riding in an what mileage you need. Anakee Wilds are good also MotoZ Desert HT/RallZ/Adventure/GPS, they also seem to mix and match well

Assuming you're on a heavy adventure bike like the 1190, The MotoZ Tractionator Desert H/T is both reasonably priced and amazing off-road. It might last 1500-2000 miles depending on your style but it feels a little squirrelly on road (It has big knobs, I run it on my 950 Super Enduro). The Shinko E805 is one of my favorites for everything. I got about 3000 miles on my 1190 Adv R and that included doing all the hardest trails around the Colorado Alpine loop plus Black Bear, Imogene and Ophir pass 2-up, and it also holds really well on road. One it was about 85% worn I started getting punctures pretty easily but I carry a plug kit so no big deal.
@manybikes3 жыл бұрын
Great points Drew! I happen to think the Motoz RallZ is the most aggressive and one of the longest lasting tires for Adventure Riding. I like it better than the Desert HT, but it too is a fantastic tire.
