Such great memories. Remember going to the Village in downtown Detroit in the early 60's. Mitch was Billy Lee then, singing soul and R&B. He later formed Billy Lee & the Rivieras, which became Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.

I f this song doesn't represent the best time to be a kid to young for Nam, and old enough to enjoy women, drug, beer, music, muscle cars tell me what does? It will never come again, somehow I knew that and I partied, played every single minute I could, and I am damn glad I did.

The singer wearing the denim jacket ( fifth one on the right), played Antoine Suger in the movie, " no country for old men". Antoine was the hitman with the airtank who tried to intimidate the convenience store clerk.

When I was working and had a bad day I would come home and put this on the stereo. I had a medium power stereo and I would try for more volume till it would blow the speaker fuses. They were cheap so I would go to Radio Shack and buy twenty or twenty-five at a time.
@templeman48 жыл бұрын
+bud edwards Those were the days when Radio Shack had great sounding yet inexpensive speakers, receivers, and turntables, you couldn't go wrong there even if you had just a couple of dimes to rub together.

It puts me back in the late sixties specially 1967, when I had little crush Mickey Dolenze of The Monkees, when I was just five year's old. Lol! I was little too young to know about things like that. Lol!

Cool! This is the long version. Some versions are edited down & don't repeat the first verse after the guitar break. On the edited version they go into the "wearing pearls & diamond rings" part after the guitar break.
