I mean, it sounds like a joke but it's genuinely true. Something about that character lends itself remarkably well to a male portrayal, and something about David lends itself remarkably well to a female role.
@kahuna39015 жыл бұрын
@@Xezlec that's spot on, the thing I always think with Mrs danvers is in so many ways a villain who has an incorrigible hatred of all things common, the literal definition of being uptight. It's crazy how David excels in those types of roles. Moreover, this horrifying glide from across the room is so in keeping with the tone of Mrs danvers, the feeling Mrs Dewinter has when danvers is in the room. Ghostly, cold, a spectre always judging and disapproving. Classic Mitchell and Webb, and the types of intellect not known to many comedy sketch shows

In the classic novel and movie Rebecca the unnammed second Mrs DeWinter moves into Manderly house after marrying Max DeWinter. Then she is constantly being told how wonderful Max's first wife Rebecca was. The maid Ms Danvers especially seems to take pleasure in reminding the second wife how amazing Rebecca was, and the ghostly presence of Rebecca starts to drive the second Mrs DeWinter mad, or does it?
