"To test the encoder, run the Data Display and Count Test in WinTI5000EX. Watch the mechanical angle change relative to the shaft. Check for internal errors on the screen. Insure the encoder is counting properly. Now switch to the Count Test and check to make sure the proper counts per revolution is measured on each of the four turns of the shaft. Verify the proper number of counts per revolution and no internal errors from the encoder."
