The bar makes all the difference. You can't clean an axle the way you can clean an Oly bar and the flex in the Oly bar helps in the jerk because they utilise the bounce from the dip and the hand wrist position is better on the thinner bar. An Oly bar is so much better for getting overhead than an axle.

A great question. Gretzky, Jordan and Tom Brady are pretty much the absolute top 3 in my mind. Everyone dominated their sport in an incredible way. Wayne's lack of fitness and strength (as he himself has said his results were often the worst of the team) makes his accomplishments all he more incredible. Jordan's six titles with a year of in between is amazing. Brady's ability to be clutch in the most critical moments for well over a decade is unbelievable when considering the wear and tear of gridiron football.

Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Tom Brady, Kobe Bryant all the same mental makeup. Absolute psychotics. Hyper competitive. Couldn’t stand the thought of losing. Able to elevate in the hardest of situations. Thrived when facing adversity. But Tom Brady is the GOAT. 7 rings. 10 Super Bowl appearances in 21 seasons as a starter. Took his team to the Super Bowl nearly 50% of the time. The comeback against the Falcons was insane. But the last ring with the Bucs solidified it. Led a historically horrific franchise to a Super Bowl win his first season with the team as a 43 year old man. Absolutely insane. Is he the most physically gifted athlete of all time? Not even close. That’s what makes it more impressive. Just an absolute winning machine. People will say that his Super Bowl losses hurt his legacy, but how is losing a Super Bowl worse than not making it at all?

He dominated darts (recognized as a sport by Sport England in 2005) for over three decades and won 214 professional tournaments, including a record 85 major titles, and a record 16 World Championships. Probably him. Simone Biles has a shout too, for longevity of domination. Folks can argue what constitutes a sport but the important part with Phil Taylor, which I'm sure you can appreciate, is drive and competitiveness. How do you stay motivated when you've achieved everything in the sport and dominated all the competition. How do you motivate yourself to win an 11th world championship? Motivation and drive is what separates the world top from the legends. It is why people talk about Shaw and Big Z as GOAT, and not Thor, despite Thor arguably being the best ever in a single year.
