Hi! I’m just starting out and would love your advice if you can ❤❤ trying to save cost where I can but would also like to create molds of some pieces to save time, I was looking for an alternative to needing all the kit thats typically required for RTV molds you’ve shared, I’ve found RTV silicon moulding putty which seems like a very cheap alternative to but I’m wondering whether it can be used, it doesn’t seem to have air bubbles problem after mixing but feels like there must be a reason this isn’t used instead? Thanks millions xx

We bought some grow lights from Amazon during the pandemic and they weren’t super expensive but they did work really well. I would say to just be careful with how close you put them. I’m sure you already know about how picky plants are with how many you have but we put ours too close and after a few hours, the plant we were using it for got something like a sunburn. Some of them are so picky. Good luck with yours either way

I don't mean to tell you what to do at all, because you know what you're doing. But I added a clamp to my bench a while back for cutting molds that is attached to a chain and just screwed down to the wood. I use it to hold on to one side of the mold while I hold the other side of the mold when cutting, and it makes the process a lot easier, and possibly a lil safer. I feel like a clamp on a chain would make your life a lot easier! :P

I might say what works good for me, but that’s about it. Sorry I can’t help you on your grows. lol. On your own , well dif people for advice on grow lights. Hahahaha. It’s amazing you jumped into casting, and now cast for not other stores but other jewelers. Unless you cast and finish the pieces for the other stores. I’m picturing brick and mortar. But shit I might have you cast for me sometime. Last big one I did, and put thru a series of tumbling to finish was a lot , maybe more than a lot of pendants for burning man, for another jeweler. That’s how we do it. But I’ll be watching and I’ll think of a good tip I would ask any other. Jeweler friends if they don’t know they this or that. Like that Pam spray for cooking is a good mold release. It’s good to spray on ur stones ur waxing around or even lightly in your molds. But like the way we make frames around stones it works good. Sometimes it’s a pain no matter. Especially if it had a back, and ur stone had like a j.b.weld backing ur wax will stick to those backings. Or epoxy .

I definitely could have and should have! 🙈 I tried to download one before but I couldn’t find one that would automatically share anything more than just photos? Videos were a challenge for it because of the music? I’ll have to keep digging but it anyone knows of a good scheduler I’m open 🙏🏻🙈💜
@AlchemyWithSoul4 ай бұрын
@@MiteraMade I use Later. music is an issue for all schedule apps but the way around it is that you scheduled it to notify you when it's ready to post instead of automatically posting. So it'll send you a notification. You can then open the post in the IG app... Add the music and hit post. From there I have it automatically post to my FB page. For KZbin I just do shorts manually because you can't do the notify to post thing. Only works for IG. For all platforms I use the automatic post if my videos are Asmr and dont need music added. Even though it seems like a pain it really does help me be more organised. Because you can store videos and photos in the app and clear them out your phone. I could send you a video of the back end if you like. Kinda show you around to give you a feel for it. ❤️ it's costly but for me personally it's worth the extra money. 😊

I’m using bluecast resin v2 prestige Optima investment powder and I can’t seem to get a good cast. I’m using a vacuum chamber. Is there any way I can improve this?

Hmm, I use prestige as well but not the one for resin so I can’t speak on that too much, but it seems like your silver might be too hot when you cast. I have cast (i’m converting to F so I don’t confuse myself lol) at 1900F for silver before and it definitely caused porosity. I cast silver now at 1780F and the casts come out perfectly with no pitting 💜 As for my final furnace temperature, I cast once my flask has been at 1000F for at least 45 min to an hour 🙏🏻I hope that can help you 🙏🏻

@IronEagleWelding-s6fАй бұрын
I’m sure there’s better ways to tell you, and you’re prob tired of these dumbasses telling you bullshit. But I think a lot of this can and or will help. Don’t take your filings for granted like a lot of us do or have done until we realize how much they add up, including your buffing collector for ventilation. It adds up. In your drawer under ur bench pen mostly. Get a good refinery like David H Fell in L.A . That will work with you on small amounts starting out. You can get into buying scrap at a cheap rate, and refine it at today’s rate. Not as much online I’m sure. But also a refiner will basically trade you or give you credit for what you send in, and send you material back. Say you need bezel, and whatever gauge backplate. They use ur credit.
